Home Finally
I picked this quilt up from my local quilt shop on Sunday. I made it Jan 2006 and right after the machine quilting was finished the shop owner asked me if they could display my quilt. Well I felt honoured to have my quilt displayed for everyone to see. The pattern is from Crabapple Hill.
The embroidery is 2 strips about 6" wide by 60" long, I don't know if you can see the details. I love embroidery and really enjoyed stitching this. I had it machine quilted and asked for the white area around the embroidery left untouched. I didn't want the machine quilting to go over the embroidery, so when I got it home I did the echo quilting myself all the way around. I'm really happy with how it turned out. My youngest daughter said she liked the quilt but I don't know if that means she would like to have it. She has been expressing interest in a much brighter colours for her (pinks and greens). She will need to pick the fabrics as I don't "do" brights.
On the painting (priming) of my kitchen, I made great progress with 2 coats almost everywhere except the edges I will be doing today. Must finish painting... Then I can buy some curtain fabric...
In the morning I met with my stitching group, made some progress with hand applique on my 1930's blocks, the baskets are pieced and the flowers are appliqued, pictures will come soon.

that is a lovely quilt! No wonder your daughter likes it!
Such soft, sweet colors. Makes me think of spring.
Ohhhh, that is sweet. I love the embroidering on it. Well, if your daughter doesn't like I'll take it! ;o)
That is a beautiful quilt - I love the quilting on it too!
I love this quilt! Your quilting around the stitchery really makes it stand out. Great job.
Sweet and georgius. Crabapple hill has a lot of wonderful patterns.
Beautiful quilt!!! i love the soft delicate colours and the embrodiery is lovely.
Such a pretty quilt. I could see the embroidery up close when I clicked on the picture. Beautiful.
I found some hand dyed wool - a woman who used to have a quilt shop hand dyes wool and now sells it through my local quilt shop. I have not bought it yet but I plan to get some and try the wool applique.
Sweet and Spring immediately came to mind, Wendy. It's beautiful.
The embroidery looks very nice on this quilt.
What a truly beautiful quilt. I clicked on the picture and was able to see the embroidery. Truly exquisite!
That's a wonderful quilt, and I understand why the shop owner wanted it for display! You get it back just in time to display it for this spring!
Thanks for the link to the pattern. I sent an e-mail to my LSQ to see if they will carry her patterns. If not I will order from the site.
Just the right quilt to show at the end of winter. Beautiful! I have just discovered your blog and I love everything you make. The felted postcards are a Must Do for me now. Thank you for sharing!
That is truly a lovely quilt! So soft and beautiful!
What a gorgeous quilt! It has been away for awhile, it must be nice to see it again!
What a lovely quilt! Every time I have myself convinced that I don't need an embroidery machine I see another great idea to incorporate embroidery!
This is one of my favorite quilts. I love everything Crabapple Hill! You did a great job on the embroidery and the piecing is perfect!
