I finished my punchneedle "Wings of Loooove" (as hubby would put it) and made this wool heart shaped pillow to put it on, or as hubby would say (cutsey-wootsey pillow) The edges of the punchneedle are turned under and secured before stitching to a piece of black wool with the large pinked edge, don't know how else to describe the jagged edge. Then the wool is whip stitched to the heart. I used rusty wire for the hanger and added a rusty key and ribbon to finish it off. This will be displayed at my LQS with the valentine stuff.
Have you seen Nicole's little game of showing off your messy cutting table. I thought this would be a good time to jump right in and show what a mess I'm working with. I think to play along I'm to list 15 things on my table. Nicole will have a vote for the messiest table. Can I spy 15 things on this table? Hmmm.....not a problem.
- Open tin, holds my Micron Pigma pens
- mechanical pencil
- 2 zippers in plastic bag
- pattern for sewing case I'm working on
- post-it flags and post-it notes, hmmm that's 2 things or is it one???
- wool needlecase, how did that get there...must have fallen from the shelf up above
- cutter
- rulers which I'm not using for the current project
- various magazine that have nothing to do with the project I'm working on
- Buggy Barn pattern, quilt is finished and quilted and ready for binding
- 2 piles of fabrics from older projects
- metal washer peeking out from under the basket
- Easier for mechanical pencil
- Batting in bag
- Scraps of fabrics and pieced back for sewing case I'm currently working on
That is not messy, just quilty things.
ReplyDeleteOh Wendy - if I post mine I'd win hands down! Yours is NOTHING!
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing your post, I decided to join the fun and show my mess on my blog. Yours looks pretty neat to me!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute heart! I love it! You do such beautiful work. As for your table, I don't think it's messy! It's in the process of creation! I don't know, messy to me is coffee stains, banana peels etc.... which I am happy to say I do not have (that is unless dh puts his coffee cut on my cutting table or something, but that's cleaned up real fast by him - ;o) Thanks for sharing! Keep well!
ReplyDeleteYour little heart is so cute. I love seeing things made with punched needle projects -- I love to do punch needle but have a hard time trying to think of something to do with them.
ReplyDeleteLove your needlepunch Valentine's project...great job!
ReplyDeleteI love your Wings of Loooove needlepunch (cute you call it that). I still have not mastered needlepunch. I bought a Cameo needle instead of the Inoglohowever-you-spell-it needles, maybe it will work better for me.
ReplyDeleteWell, look how cute that heart is with the needlepunch! It's adorable, Wendy.
ReplyDeleteI can't show cutting surface because I spent all day cleaning my "studio" and my cutting surface is truly spotless. (hmmm - maybe I'll show it anyway - LOL)
Love, Love, love the heart and the prettiest pink wool you used. Just fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThat cutting table isn't all that messy. Love the pattern for the sewing case. DO you mind sharing the name or maker and where you got it? It looks fabulous!
Luuurrrvve your Wings of Looovve!!
ReplyDeleteThat's not a messy table! My area's so messy you can't tell if there is actually a table underneath everything! lol
The funny thing about this cutting table challenge is that each one of us could have the same table, with the same 15 items, in our own sewing rooms... it's universal. Your heart pillow w/ punchneedle is lovely!
ReplyDeleteI came from Stashbuster webring. Your table is not that bad! I wish I had known such a fun listing a couple weeks ago as I cleaned mine (finally).
ReplyDeleteYour Wings of Love Heart is very sweet! I got to make one for my hubby too!! Thanks for your idea~!
Love the little Valentine door hanger. I like working it wool too. I cleaned up my sewing space yesterday. So oops I guess it's too late to show my mess. Thanks for the inspiring pictures on your blog. Terry
ReplyDeleteYou have an organized mess! I wonder what that dern metal washer peek out from under the basket is for though? :) Is that quilty?
ReplyDelete...oh dern, got ahead of myself there.
ReplyDeleteThe pincushion is very cuteamous!!!
That's not messy *s* Looks like a nice space to work.
ReplyDeleteLove Love the punch needle! Great finish on that piece!!! Turned out really good!
ReplyDeleteI am loving seeing different blogger's cutting tables. If I took a picture of mine it would be boring. Tehre are not even 15 things on it to name.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute heart you made.
ReplyDeleteCute, cute heart!!
ReplyDeleteYou have some clear space showing on your work table Wendy!
