Pumpkins and Purple Steps

Here's what 4 coats of paint looks like. A few areas are still drying which makes it look a bit spotty in the picture. The painting took so long mainly because the paint needed to dry for 3 days in between coats and as soon as Sept hits we get cooler nights with moisture. Which means the steps would be wet in the morning and I had to wait until the sun dried the steps before painting again. And then there were days that I really didn't feel like painting. It's done....woohoo and I'm really happy with how it turned out. Next is to get the walkway done, the guy is coming at the end of Sept to lay bricks for the walk. Now I should make a sign for the bottom of the steps saying "take your shoes off"....wouldn't that be funny...LOL
I finished a little stitchery for fall decorating. I was undecided about putting this on a towel. It is a towel band but I didn't want anyone to use it. I went ahead anyway and it will look nice folded over the kitchen cupboard or maybe laying on a table with pumpkins.
Thanks for stopping by. Happy Stitching,
Wendy

  4. Wendy your steps are so pretty...I think it would be perfectly fine to say "Remove your shoes before going up the steps"...you could have something at the bottom of the steps to hold shoes and then when they came down the steps they could collect their shoes.
Love your stitchery...no hand drying on that towel! LOL!

After I painted my entryway, I had the dryer vent cleaners come and I told the guy as he hauled in his equipment that if he TOUCHED the newly painted wall he was DEAD...haha...I wasn't joking.

  19. Your steps turned out great! I hate outside painting. We have lots of fences and I hate doing it, so I sympathize with all those coats!

  21. Yes, you should have a sign that reads "take your shoes off" and also one on your tea towel, reading..."do not touch!" :)

  23. OK - so I found out I have no email right now that I normally use! Our work flooded and they had to shut all the electricity off in our building! So I don't have your email anywhere else and wanted to chat with you about the book. Can you send me an email at dquilts(at)gmail.com (replace (at) with @ - did so hopefully I don't get spammed too much). I"m dying to share with you!
