Better late than never I always say. This little baby quilt is for Taylor born Aug 8th. My daughters friends are having babies and I've made one for each of them, this is the 5th quilt. One friend has 3 kids and the other one now has 2 kids. I hope they will be slowing down soon. My daughter friends always look forward to receiving their new baby quilts from me.
One of my daughter friends is career oriented like my daughter, they both just graduated from university. Well Lara was talking about quilts the last time I saw her, I was getting the sense she is feeling left out because there are no plans for babies anytime soon for the career girls. I think it's about time Lara got her own quilt, maybe a lap quilt would be nice.
A back view of polka dot flannel, this quilt is so soft.
I took this picture just so you can see the entire quilt, it's about 32"x42"...a good snuggle size quilt.
It's adorable!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors, very nice!! She will love it!

ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet idea . . . not every girl wants to be a mommy - at least not right away *s*
ReplyDeleteLove the baby quilt. And I agree about making quilts for your daughter's friend. I was making quilts as wedding, anniversary, baby gifts and my younger brother, who just turned 20, pointed out that he'd be waiting a long time for his quilt. I felt terrible and made one up right away. I like your lap quilt idea:)
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable and perfect for snuggling with the baby!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the career girls need quilts, too. :-)
I love the fabric. What an adorable quilt.
ReplyDeleteLovely fabric and colours. A baby quilt is always appreciated, but grown-up girls like quilts too! A lap quilt would be the perfect size.
ReplyDeleteLove it! polka dots are such a happy print!
ReplyDeleteI have a Lara here too, she wanted a quilt with 'dollies' on it, so she got sunbonnet sue.. now (she is 11) she wants one with spongebob.. not gonna happen.. LOL
I am sure that fad will change!
What lucky new moms! I love the colors too. I think a quilt for a career girl is a great idea!!

So pretty. I really like your color combination. I love making baby quilts. They fun, fast, and simple. I keep them on hand...just in case.

ReplyDeleteThere's plenty of time for babies!! A career is great too! (And a quilt for her, might cheer her up)

I love the brown and aqua! I think Lara definitely needs a quilt of her own, shouldn't be deprived because she's not having babies yet--good idea by you :)
ReplyDeleteJust an adorable quilt. I had seen Denyse Schmidt's updated version of the double wedding ring called The Single Girl. You can see it here
