Polka Dot Girls are Finished

I've been spending very little time at the computer and sewing because we are in a horrible heat wave. I'm posting this at 9:30pm and the temperature is still 86F. It's been so hot not even the basement is cool anymore. I find it very difficult to do anything, the only time I can get away from the heat is in my air conditioned car or shopping mall....not that I'm complaining...I know winter is not far away and we'll soon be shoveling snow again.

Well here you have it, the Polka Dots Girls is officially finished, quilted and binding sewn on. I love how the cross hatching turned out with the stitched blocks. Candace was having the same questions about quilting through her stitchery. Check out her Halloween wallhanging...it's so adorable.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope you are keeping cool.

  5. Your quilt is gorgeous!! I plan to finish quilting mine in August, hopefully! One advantage of living in the south is that we have air conditioned houses, so we don't go out much when it's 100 or more. I don't like hot weather, so I'm looking forward to October!

  6. Very nice finish you have there Wendy. Funny thing and I don't know why, but the other day I was thinking about those steps and that it was at that time of your working on them that we were getting to know each other. (btw--packet in the mail)

  7. Wendy that quilt is just adorable and what a labor of love. Lots of stitching in that one and your quilting is the perfect finishing touch.

Stay cool sister, heat always makes me cranky, lol.

  11. Doesn't it feel good to have a finish?! As for the heat.....there are always quilt shops to go visit, too! LOL And don't forget the movies or the library (one of my favorite places to "hide"). Of course, down here in the Carolinas, EVERYTHING is air-conditioned.

  16. Great choice on the quilting, it looks great and doesn't detract from your beautiful stitcheries. I live in the Seattle area and I have been miserable too with how hot it is. I am not getting any quilting or knitting done. It is just too hot in the house.

  20. Wendy it turned out so nicely! Are you doing the Halloween one? This heat is unreal. Even with a fan blowing directly on me I can't do anything. I was sewing and gave up on that. Guess it's handwork and book reading days. Not complaining either.

Have you cooled down today? Temps dropped 35 degrees in 5 hours last evening here in SW WA. Basking in "cool" air today!!
