I've been spending very little time at the computer and sewing because we are in a horrible heat wave. I'm posting this at 9:30pm and the temperature is still 86F. It's been so hot not even the basement is cool anymore. I find it very difficult to do anything, the only time I can get away from the heat is in my air conditioned car or shopping mall....not that I'm complaining...I know winter is not far away and we'll soon be shoveling snow again.
Well here you have it, the Polka Dots Girls is officially finished, quilted and binding sewn on. I love how the cross hatching turned out with the stitched blocks.
Candace was having the same questions about quilting through her stitchery. Check out her
Halloween wallhanging...it's so adorable.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope you are keeping cool.
Wendy, your Polka Dot girls look beautiful. The quilting is great. Well done you! Whats next???
ReplyDeleteyour quilt looks beautiful and it is great to have it all finished..........well done
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely quilt - sorry it is so hot!
ReplyDeleteHugs - Lurline♥
Fabulous quilt, the quilting through the stitchery looks good. Sorry the heat is so oppressive for you.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is gorgeous!! I plan to finish quilting mine in August, hopefully! One advantage of living in the south is that we have air conditioned houses, so we don't go out much when it's 100 or more. I don't like hot weather, so I'm looking forward to October!
ReplyDeleteVery nice finish you have there Wendy. Funny thing and I don't know why, but the other day I was thinking about those steps and that it was at that time of your working on them that we were getting to know each other. (btw--packet in the mail)
ReplyDeleteWendy that quilt is just adorable and what a labor of love. Lots of stitching in that one and your quilting is the perfect finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteStay cool sister, heat always makes me cranky, lol.
Hugs - Karen
It is so totally gorgeous! I bet you are just so pleased. How could you not be pleased. I love it! Congrats on a wonderful finish!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish! Wishing some cool breezes for you!
ReplyDeleteThis looks fabulous!!! The quilt, the stitchery and the quilting... I have a few small stitcheries that I might try incorporating into little quilts now. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it feel good to have a finish?! As for the heat.....there are always quilt shops to go visit, too! LOL And don't forget the movies or the library (one of my favorite places to "hide"). Of course, down here in the Carolinas, EVERYTHING is air-conditioned.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness1 The quilt is very adorable and I think the crosshatching fits it perfectly.
ReplyDeleteStay cool! We are having a bit of a heat wave in Oregon too.
It's beautiful. I love this quilt.
ReplyDeleteThe girls turned out so cute!! I love the completed quilt.
ReplyDeleteHope it cools off for you soon.
Applause, applause, applause!!!! I love it Wendy! Yours is finished and mine is still waiting - Sigh! LOL Soon, you've inspired me! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat choice on the quilting, it looks great and doesn't detract from your beautiful stitcheries. I live in the Seattle area and I have been miserable too with how hot it is. I am not getting any quilting or knitting done. It is just too hot in the house.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous...I'm goint to try some cross-hatching on some stitchery quilts after seeing Candace's and yours!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing Polka Dot Girls! Now you can send the heat out east to the prairies, it's not warm here in MB!
ReplyDeleteOh Wendy your Polka Dot Girls is just wonderful! You should be doing the dance...when it cools off a bit.
ReplyDeleteWendy it turned out so nicely! Are you doing the Halloween one? This heat is unreal. Even with a fan blowing directly on me I can't do anything. I was sewing and gave up on that. Guess it's handwork and book reading days. Not complaining either.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Great job!
ReplyDeleteHave you cooled down today? Temps dropped 35 degrees in 5 hours last evening here in SW WA. Basking in "cool" air today!!
I love your quilt!
ReplyDeleteHow's your weather today? It feels just a little cooler here than yesterday but at least it's going the right direction. I'm waiting till it's cooler to work on my quilts.
Great finish, Wendy! Perservering through that heat must have been a real chore. But it was worth it because it looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt is absolutely beautiful. Now for me to get busy and make mine!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt. Hope you survive the heat.
ReplyDeletePolka Dot Girls turned out just beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, you must be happy, it looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt!!!! It came out SO well. Great job!
ReplyDeleteIt's fabulous Wendy! You don't even see the stitching, it disappears!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing the Polka-Dot Girls. That was a big project and it looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI hear you about the heat-incredible heat (from Victoria, BC)! I don't do well when it's like this! Love the polk- a-dot girls! Very cute! Paulette
ReplyDeleteThanks for the linky, Wendy! I've been away from the HOT computer for several days for the same reason - today is finally normal and time for catch up! I just love your finished PDG! Bravo!!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
That is soooo cute Wendy. I love it. Guess i better get busy and start on mine. I've loved every block as you were making yours.

ReplyDeleteYour quilt turned out so cute,,,,so, so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love your Polka Dot Girls quilt, it's just beautiful. I would like to get this pattern someday. I discovered it's not easy to find as it's an Australian pattern. I like the red polka dot hearts, nice touch.
