A closer look at some of the bolts.
I couldn't help myself I had to make a sample for the shop. This is a small table topper using one of the Schnibbles patterns called "A Little Bit Country". I started cutting the blocks in the middle of the heat wave and even took my sewing machine to the basement so I could do a little sewing. Soon the heat in the basement was too much. Now that it's cooler I was able to get this finished. With the pretty colours it sure didn't seem like I was working on something Christmas this early.
It does not look like Christmas fabric!
ReplyDeleteOh your little sample is as cute as it can be!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute fabric. I love them all. I'm glad our quilt stores receive Christmas fabric in July...that way I can start thinking about what I need to sew up for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI bought a charm pack of that fabric plus a yard of the pink star from that same line. I absolutely love it. I've already made a Christmas gift with it - but I may keep it for myself (not very Christmas Spirit is it?) Or I should just go and buy some more of it. That sample is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it will tempt lots of shoppers to buy that fabric.
I LOVE this fabric. I have a few fat quarters but need to buy some extra. It is so fun and refreshing. I live in Florida so the pinks and teals are so perfect for our Christmas' here :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely fabric - cute quilt.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure its xmas fabric??
ReplyDeleteMy DD#1 would just love those colors. Cute pattern, too. Before you know it you'll have snow. Hold on just a little longer.
ReplyDeleteHow cute, but it's hard to visualize Christmas in those colors.
ReplyDeleteWow - the fabric really brings back the 60's for me, Wendy! How great that you actually escaped to the cool basement for some sewing!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Oh that's yummy fabric!! And your sample is just perfect for it :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I clicked on the pic I got a better look at the border fabric in your quilt and it's adorable! The colours don't scream "winter" do they? Nothing wrong with that though.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Great pattern for this fabric.
ReplyDeleteCool fabric, Wendy...pardon the pun. Very retro, indeed! And I love the pattern as well.
ReplyDeleteGosh it just seems appropriate to work with fabrics to cool and refreshing during the hot dog days of summer! You made a fantastic sampler for the shop...did you make one for you too?
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty line of fabric - and the table topper is adorable. I'm so glad things have cooled off for you. We are actually heading into a bit of a heat wave this week - it's finally feeling like summer here. Crazy crazy weather.
ReplyDeleteI bought some retro fabric to make a stitchery wall hanging for Christmas. It's so out of my box and so fun to pick out.
Hugs - Karen
BTW - glad you liked your goodie package :)
Shame on you. You mentioned the C word LOL.
ReplyDeleteI bought some of that adorable fabric on vacation. Love your little topper!
That is very cute Wendy. I love those colors.
ReplyDeleteWow! Very cute! I would never have thought of xmas fabric in those colors!
ReplyDeleteThat is cute fabric!! Lucky you get to make a little something with it.
ReplyDeleteNice to have the weather a little cooler now isn't it?
I like this fabric line too. Some charm squares of this fabric just called my name, and you are inspiring me to get busy with it!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree that those fabrics are so cute. Great table topper too.
ReplyDeleteThe fabric is so cute...
ReplyDeleteI love this blog...
