A Little Early

I finished a small wall hanging using a Kathy Schmitz pattern. It's going to be a shop sample but probably won't be displayed until closer to the fall. I'm really happy with the scrappy red border, I used a charm pack called Fruit Cake by Moda.

I've been busy with kitchen renovations, we are replacing the cabinet doors, counter top and sink. It doesn't sound like much but to save on the budget we are prepping and painting the cabinets ourselves. Busy time for sure.
Lula doing what she does best.....napping.

Happy Quilting.

  8. The Santa stitchery is very nice! I have noticed that many of Kathy S.'s stitcheries are done in black. I was wondering how a Christmas piece would look with black thread but I can see that it works well with your fabrics used for the border.

  9. When you are finished with your kitchen I have one that could use some loving too...you game? Hee! Lula is just darned adorable. I'm unsure how you get much done at all with her around. I'd be loving on her all the time. It is never too early to start for Christmas...6 months!!

  10. Very cute Santa - love the border. I feel for you - with the kitchen re-do - hopefully soon it will be over and you'll be enjoying the new kitchen - and maybe you can have a nap. LOL

  11. If I finished a Christmas project right now, I would probably have to consider it 6 months late instead of early!

  12. Love your stitchery and isn't it amazing how cats can find the most perfect spot anywhere for a nap. Good luck with the cupboards - it is a lot of work!

  17. Oh, I would love to make this myself, and I would never have thought to do with so much black, but it looks perfect. I especially like the inner border which sets if off so nicely and the touch of green red in the sprig and berry. I am sure it will be a big hit in your shop.
