A Couple of Things

All the stitcheries for the Simple Pleasures quilt are done and ready to go into a quilt. These are bigger than the original in the book, I enlarged them because in the book, the blocks are teeny tiny. I'm happy to have all 12 blocks completed.....I couldn't fit them all in one picture.
My Petite Houses are now a little quilt ready for quilting, the problem now is I don't know how I'll quilt this one. I like to keep it simple and need to think about it for a while.

We had a huge snowfall this weekend. It didn't stop us from getting downtown for dinner, a play and staying at a swanky hotel, it's fun to be a tourist in your own home town.

Thanks for the wonderful comments on my Lil Twister quilt, I used a charm pack to make it.

  1. Your little house top is simply adorable!!!! I don't think I would want elaborate quilting either as it is a "simplicity" kind of quilt. Cross hatching is what speaks to me.

  7. Darling little house quilt!
For quilting, how about outlining (or stitching in the ditch) in the house blocks and doing a motif of a tree in the open blocks? Then maybe a leafy vine in the border?

  8. LOve the house quilt. I'd go with a stitch in the ditch for the houses and maybe an x thru the open squares. I tend to keep things simple.

  10. The stitcheries are beautiful and the houses look great. I think applique items look nice when they are outlined with quilting. Your outing sounds great. Dinner and a show always seems very classy.

  12. What a neat idea to show off all your hard work in a quilt. I do like the one with the houses...did you paint the houses? I made my DD a quilt and had printed pictures of her whole life on fabric and then put them all in a quilt...it was fun and a real keepsake :)
