It's beginning to look like fall is here. Today is the last full day of summer, you would never know it since today it's pouring rain and windy. I'm glad I got this picture outside before the rains had started. This was a panel I cut up and added homespun sashing between the blocks. I really had to do a lot of cutting to get all the blocks the same size and because of the layout on the panel every block was on bias......grrrrr. I don't like panels but I'm happy I put this one together anyway.
This is one of my favourite blocks in the quilt. I'm planning to quilt pumpkins on this quilt and I think I have a pumpkin flannel I can put on the back. I love the fall colours!Happy Fall!
Cute idea! I have two Fall panels somewhere in the great stash. I thought they were cute when I bought them but didn't do anything with them for the same reason as you ..... not crazy about panels. Still . . . . .
ReplyDeleteVery sweet! Good for you fussy cutting all those cute panel pictures. It looks wonderful!

ReplyDeleteWonderful Fall quilt Wendy! Fantastic idea to cut up a panel and I love the colors you've chosen for those sashing strips! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteSeriously cute, Wendy! Great use of the panel. :-)
ReplyDeleteThey would be adorable stitchery blocks, too. :-)
Wow. That's a panel? When I first saw it I thought it was applique! I think since the blocks are small it isn't noticeable that it is a panel. I really love this quilt and think it was worth the cutting headaches. The homespuns you add are just exactly right. This is my favorite time of year, so I love these kinds of quilts. Very warm and comfy!!
