12 Days of Christmas

I've started working on the mystery quilt from Temecula Quilt Shop, it's a very easy mini sampler. Super simple and easy for a after Christmas project. My bundle of fabrics arrived Dec 24th, just in time. You can find the free pattern here, it's not too late to get started.

Blocks 1 to 5 are finished, each day the number of pieces in the blocks has increased. I hope the 12th block doesn't have 12 pieces!
I thought I should introduce Fonzie, he is my daughters dog. She has been staying with us until she finds a place to rent. Fonzie is a really good obedient dog. It's been interesting keeping the cats and the dog apart. So far we've only had a couple chases through the house, mostly the cats running for cover when the dog comes in.

Happy Quilting.

  9. I am doing the 12 Days of Christmas project as well. I'm using a Kansas troubles charm pack- Wildflower Serenade II. I hadn't picked up on the pattern of the number of pieces matched the day number! DUH!

Fonzie sure is a cute dog!

  10. I've joined in the Mystery too - I liked that it was small and so if I don't like my colour choices I can easily re-do a block --- and of course it's easy to keep up! I also hadn't picked up on the point that each day got more pieces - duh! I'm sure Fonzie is enjoying his holiday.

  11. Hi Wendy. I bought the same quilt kit, but mine didn't arrive until yesterday, so haven't started it yet. It looks fairly easy, but like you, I hope the last block doesn't have 12 pieces. Looking forward to seeing how yours finishes. I may have to change it up a bit as I don't want it to look like everyone else's. Perhaps a different border. Happy New Year!

  13. She never said directly about the 12 pieces on the 12th day but told us not to worry. Does that mean there aren't that many or it's easy? I hope both!! I am keeping up with this one so far.

  18. What the cats don't love him? How could they not...he is too cute. I am babysitting my daughters dog Griffin for a week... a big black Rottweiler....he is such a good dog and I have really enjoyed having him here...he isn't allowed inside anyway even though at her house she spoils him rotten and he lives inside and sleeps on her bed...agghh
    Not at Grandma's house though...lol

  21. I am guessing the last block does indeed have 12 pieces but I believe Cheryl said it would be easy...hmmm 3 1/2" vs. easy..not so sure about that one but I do believe Cheryl would not tell a fib. Good for you Wendy for being on target with your blocks..I had good intentions but have a small quilt to finish up on the big guy...
    Happy New Year!

  23. I have been tempted by the Temecula mystery quilt as I've seen others' finished blocks. It looks quick and easy and I like the fabrics they put in their kit. Must-remain-strong...
