Where has the week gone...we spent the weekend at the lake relaxing. There wasn't much to do since it rained most of the time. We got out for a couple of walks and saw the hummingbirds, a few bunnies and even a weasel sitting in the grass. One feeder had over a dozen birds flying around the feeder, it sure was cool to see that many hummingbirds in one place. I did some cutting for this quilt, the way the windmills are done requires squaring up of each block. This quilt I had 192 blocks to square. Once that is done the quilt goes together quickly. I just put the borders on yesterday....It's done and I love how very bright and cheery it will be for a summer quilt.
Here is a close up of one block and cherry border fabric.
Happy Stitching!

This is terrific - I love it in pink. I'm doing a similar one in polka dots. Now that I've seen yours - not only am I motivated more than every to finish mine - but may have to do it in reds.
Love it! So pretty in pink.
I LOVE your pink whirlygiggle quilt! It's so fun and summery!
So pretty and fresh, Wendy! It must have really warmed up there for the hummingbirds to come out - yay!
Cheers!

Oh I love how this one turned out! And your weekend at the lake sounds great.
You certainly know how to make the best use of a rainy weekend! This is a bright spot for my eyes this morning!
Love the look of this quilt! I can't seem to get enough of those windmills!
So pretty in pink!
Wow Wendy, that is such a lovely bright spring quilt! It should be fun to see all summer long!
Wow, I love this quilt with the bright colours and the windmills!!
What a cute quilt! Where did you find the pattern??? I copied your 30's quilt that you have next to your profile last year. I love this quilt!
Very cheery - for sure *s* Sounds like you had a nice weekend getaway.
Love your quilt and I love pink too.
I just saw some hummingbirds this morning on our feeder for the first time this spring. The most I have seen is four on our feeders. That would be neat to see that many at one time.
This is gorgeous!! I love the fabrics you used for this.
It is awesome.
That is one happy quilt. I love it!!! It says SUMMER.
What a cute quilt!
Sometimes the best vacations are when you can sit around and do nothing, aren't they? I usually like darker, muddier fabrics but those pinks look like they could brighten any day no matter what the weather!
cute, cute, cute! I was thinking this would make a good swap block sometime. Only smaller size blocks I think.
OMG!!!! How in the heck did I miss this posting last week?!!! I'm always so good at checking in on you too! I'm sorry!!!
Can I have it? LOL I'm sure your not laughing! OK....I think it is fantastic for in my quilt studio! It is so flippin' cheerful!!
As for your naps....I hear ya...loud and clear. I had my hormones checked and the family doctor says I'm normal....hmmm. After watching Oprah today I'm just not so sure. I've been to the doctor with several of the complaints I heard and really think I need "balancing" LOL
Your quilt is absolutely adorable! I love the pinwheel (whirlygig) pattern! Really cute fabric too!
You clearly know so much about the subject, you’ve covered so many bases.
