The Polka Dot Girls that is. I'm so happy, I finally got around to machine quilting this quilt. I decided on the cross hatch pattern because if I just go around the stitcheries they would pop from the quilt. This is simple and I don't think it takes away from the embroidery. I used a fine thread in a light colour to not cover up the stitching. I'm still working on the binding and then I'll take a picture of the whole quilt. If you want to see others making this same quilt visit
this blog dedicated to PDG's.
More than a week ago I won a giveaway on
Carol's blog. She sent me the Crazy Eight charm pack with this sweet cherry card. Thanks so much
Carol, you are a sweetie. I'm so excited to win something....woohoo this is awesome. I'll have fun making a little quilt with this bundle.
I just had to post this picture of Lula. She is getting comfortable with us and loves to cuddle.
I'm really glad to see that Lula is settling in and feeling right at home. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, the girls looks beautiful. I'll send you all my blocks and you can put my quilt together. LOL I love the way you quilted it - perfect, Wendy!
And the Girls look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHugs - Lurline♥
OMG I love your girls...the quilting is perfect!
ReplyDeleteLook at Lula...she looks so happy!
Lovely win...and the Girls looks fantastic.. wonder when I get a go on that one.. in my dreams maybe..lol.. I can watch yours..lol..
ReplyDeleteYou know that I just love the PDGs. They quilt looks gorgeous with the cross hatching. Perfect choice. Lula is just sitting pretty, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove the girls. Can't wait to see the whole thing. Glad Lula is coming out of her shell!
ReplyDeleteI really like the cross hatching on the PDG quilt! It looks great! I'm glad Lula is feeling at home, too. She is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThe Girls quilt re beautifull. Wonder if mine girls are on hollydays?? It has been a long time since I saw them.. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh those Polka Dot Girls - they are so sweet. The cross-hatching is just perfect. It might be simple, but often that's just what we need to make a quilt *sing*
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be so fun to keep checking you blog...not that it wasn't before. But what I'm saying is that Lula photos will be my kitty fix! She is really starting to look as though she owns the place! LOL I'm so happy for you.
ReplyDeleteAs for you quilt....I love that cross hatching through the embroidery and thread choice was perfect! Do tell...what was it? As you know I've got embroidery quilt patterns and one of the things that drives me nuts is them popping out if you don't quilt over them. Thread choice is of utmost importance to let that embroidery work shine! Fantastic!
Your polka dot girls are beautiful! I really like the cross-hatching on them. Might try it myself one of these days.
ReplyDeleteLulu is a sweetie and what a bonus that she likes to cuddle.
I think you picked the perfect choice for quilting! It's wonderful! I'm so happy you came along and adopted Lula, I hate to see animals get returned to shelters because they didn't fit into some else's idea of the "perfect" pet. She's found the perfect home and is finally happy and starting to shine!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is looking great. Do you have any problems machine quilting over the embroidery? I have been contemplating how to quilt some of my embroidery quilts and I like what you have done. Lula is beautiful. She has such a sweet face.
ReplyDeleteLula does look as though she is getting much more comfortable.
ReplyDeleteLove the girls!! They look like such fun to work on too.
The charm pack will look great when it is made up. The fabrics are wonderful.
The girls are neat, I've done one of those in red thread before. Glad to hear the cat has decided to settle in.
ReplyDeleteLittle Lula know she's home for sure, Wendy!
ReplyDeleteThe cross hatching is perfect for PDG's - I really like that when you don't want to take away from the embroidery!
Cheers!
Hi Wendy,
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your posts. The quilt turned out so nice. The girls are so cute gathered together doing their stitchery.
The picture of Lula is beautiful. My goodness, she has a lovely face. I am so glad she is coming around for you to enjoy her more. Your such a loving person, that it doesn't surprise me that she has learn to trust you so quickly.
Take care and have a wonderful week.
Hugs,
Karen

both the girls and Lula are beautiful... each in its own way...
ReplyDeleteLula is so dang cute and I'm so happy you found each other. There's nothing like someone around during the day for us to fuss over. It looks like she's adjusting well and I'm sure enjoying lots of love and snuggles.
ReplyDeleteYour PDG's are adorable and your quilting looks wonderful. Bet it's nice to have that one off the list and on the wall.
Hugs - Karen
Your girls are so pretty! I am glad you got them back, it is always fun to get a quilted item back in the mail. Your kittie is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThat is the sweetest little kitty! And wow! Lots of cute embroidery! You have been busy!
ReplyDeleteWendy, I love the PDGs quilt. Can't wait to see the whole quilt.
ReplyDeleteLulu is so cute, and I love her coloring.
I just saw your comment on Karen's site and thought I'd share. I have a friend who went through the same thing...stroke and a found hole, and she's doing great. No real side affects, except that she tires a little more easily, but she's doing great! My heart goes out to your family and I pray for a full recovery!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I saw your watermelon quilt and wondered what pattern that is? It's beautiful!!
