Here is what has been keeping me busy.....one kitchen needing a face lift. We are replacing the doors on the cabinets with new ones and before they can be installed, the remaining outer cabinets need to be primed and painted. I still have one more coat of paint to finish. Then comes the new granite counter top, sink and facets. Oh then after all that is done we still need to get the tile back splash done and then the entire kitchen needs to be painted......I'm just guessing this will be going on for a long time.
I did have a sewing day to get the borders on these 2 quilts. The ladybugs look a bit random....I'm sure I followed the pattern, oh well.....I like the whimsy look.
I wasn't sure about adding a border to this quilt because it wasn't part of the pattern. When it's quilted and bound I think it'll be "just fine".

Annie
A giveaway here for this adorable Annie. She would be so sweet sitting on a bookshelf or on a table. Primitives From The Attic is giving her away to a good home.
I've been working on some pinks and browns little quilts, soon I'll have something to share with you.
Happy Quilting.

A Little Early
I finished a small wall hanging using a Kathy Schmitz pattern. It's going to be a shop sample but probably won't be displayed until closer to the fall. I'm really happy with the scrappy red border, I used a charm pack called Fruit Cake by Moda.
I've been busy with kitchen renovations, we are replacing the cabinet doors, counter top and sink. It doesn't sound like much but to save on the budget we are prepping and painting the cabinets ourselves. Busy time for sure.
Lula doing what she does best.....napping.

Swap
Wow....I'm so overwhelmed with all the comments on my spool block quilt, it seems to be a favourite with many quilters. Thanks for all your responses, sorry if I don't respond to all of you.
I participated in a Secret Sister Swap with my local quilting group. I was given 3 FQ's to make something, the above little churn dash quilt is what I made and gave to my Secret Sister at our meeting last week.
This very cute stitched tablerunner is what I received from my Secret Sister. Isn't it so whimsical with the flower baskets going in both directions. I love the little purse filled with wild flowers.
Boo Boo is now save at home with his Mommy. I almost lost him again on the day my daughter was coming to pick him up. Apparently.....there is another "hole in wall" hidden in one of my kitchen cabinets. Boo Boo finds everything....owning a old house has many surprises. I'll miss him but at least I'll slept better.

Quilt Finished
My spool swap quilt is now finished. This was a swap between myself, Darlene, Sharon, Carol, Dawn and Judy, I think everyone has completed and shown their quilts already, I might be the last one, not sure. I had a really great time making these blocks It was fun getting all those little packages in the mail each month, I miss seeing them arriving in my mailbox.
The label on the back, each person signed and sent a block for a label. I decided it would be a good way to hide the seam in the back.
Boo Boo (aka Kitten) has been keeping us entertained. He sure likes to get into small places, the dishwasher, clothes dryer, dresser drawers and we found out he likes to eat flax seed gluten free bread, must have been his midnight snack. Only 2 more sleeps.....I hope....but then I just got an email from my daughter and she drove all the way to California, she was only intending to go as far as Oregon.
