I spent all day Sunday sewing like crazy. I can't believe I actually finished 12 blocks of the mystery quilt. That's plenty of blocks for me, I don't need to make anymore of those tiny HST's (1 1/2" finished). These blocks will be enough to make a lap quilt and I'm very happy with that. I need to decide on the alternate blocks, I don't do well sewing on paper and decided I'll substitute something else, just don't know what that will be right now
This was a fun mystery, I had no idea what the block would look like. I was hesitant about the red all along and wasn't sure how it would work in the block. It's really grown on me and now I love it! I look forward to seeing a few others with blocks completed.
Happy Quilting.

I love your blocks!! I have 11 of them done now...I am not going to use the string blocks as alternate...I will come up with something!!
Very pretty blocks!
I like your mystery quilt blocks. The more I see of this quilt together, the more I think I might try to finish mine. I was going to just declare it a UFO I'm soooooo far behind.
Beautiful block and beautiful color combination - I like the scrappy look. There are sure a lot of pieces in those blocks and not sure I want to tackle 1" HSTs! Brave of you to go for it!
Love the block. The colors go well together.

Your blocks look great. Nice work!
Very pretty blocks Wendy!
Very nice....and I like the juxtaposition with the snow! (How's that for a big word? My brain isn't as mushy as I thought!!)
love the blocks and fabric choices. It does look like lots of small hst's. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the mystery.
Love your blocks. I held off, but I may have to start this one.
Your blocks are so pretty. The pink and red look great together, just in time for Valentine's Day.
Very pretty - I love the colors. I don't know how anyone could do as many blocks as are suggested. I'm not doing the mystery but have many friends that are.
Wow, I love all your blocks. Can't wait to see the whole thing.
I Love this setting. The Triangles will form a frame around the next block as wel. A centered design like a star on a background will be a good alternative block.
Oh they look great! I love them.
Wonderful!! Great job and beautiful blocks!
Adorable
really nice and a lot of work
Hi! I think your blocks look great! For alternate block, you could find a large print motif on background, maybe poinsettias?, for Christmas?
also those who didn't want to make the little HSTs, what about just a border around the block, maybe a small print that would give the same amount of colour as the HSTs?
I was overwhelmed with the numbers too, but maybe I'll put this quilt pattern on my wish list for the future!
Take care, Leslie
I like your idea of setting them differently, although I was intriqued by that strip pieced block. The fabrics you used came out great! I have never done a mystery quilt. Bonnie does some great things with scraps!
Your gorgeous blocks inspired me to trudge on. I stalled on that hst step and was wondering what I would do with all these other pieces. I like your lap quilt idea! I did the string blocks sans paper.
Very pretty blocks! I'm still working on those half square triangles!!! :( I hope to start piecing my blocks togethere soon.

WOW! these are amazing blocks, nice job! Can't wait to see your finished quilt...beautiful colors.
The blocks are fantastic Wendy! I really think you need to make it queen size! LOL
Your blocks look great! I saved the directions for this one but I haven't even thought about starting it yet.
Your blocks look awesome! I'm anxious to see what you come up with for a setting. When I had all my center blocks done and laid out, they looked pretty good just like that! :)
Your blocks look fantastic! I'm still making red hsts and have not made the string blocks so I can't wait to see what you come up with. I'm sure it will be beautiful!
I like your mystery blocks a lot! They look so much fun in their colors. Very nice :)))
You did a wonderful job on Bonnie's blocks. I have a couple of her previous mysteries in my UFO pile and plan to make them into table toppers

I am loving your blocks!!!
I love your blocks Wendy!! There going to be pretty in your quilt.
I make string blocks without a paper backing. Just sew them together and trim them up. It is not hard to do but something else to piece them together with would be great too! I , myself, knew I shouldn't even start this mystery because I still do not have the double delight one put together.
Love your blocks! Will be a very pretty quilt!I plan to do these at a later date.Did pull fabrics though..;-)
Hugs,
Lola
Wow! I love your colors and how well they play together. I can't wait to see how your finished quilt looks!
Amazing blocks, Wendy! I love the colors, the pattern -- everything!
Oh those blocks are wonderful!!
Oh Wendy, those blocks are so great! Love the red..every quilt looks good with some red in it..well almost every quilt..great job. I will look forward to doing this one..You are so far out ahead of me always..
I think these are some of the prettiest blocks I have seen - very nice! Ah, Lula could be a calendar cat with that picture - she kind of has that Mona Lisa look. Makes you wonder what is she thinking?
Your blocks look fantastic Wendy. I have seen a couple of these quilts in blogland, some set differently and they all look fantastic.
WOW! Your Cotton Boll blocks look wonderful! I just them!
I love the fabrics you chose to do these blocks in.
Great looking blocks. I've got all the directions, haven't started the first block :(!! But I love seeing all the finished ones starting to pop up! Can't wait to see more.
