Another mini is finished, I didn't use a pattern. I had a small kit for a little quilt that didn't interest me anymore so I used those pieces to sew scrappy 4 patches and this is what happened. I'm so hooked on these mini quilts and having so much fun making them. Does anyone else do that? Use a kit for something other than what it was intended for?
Boo is hiding in the shrubs or at least that's what he thinks. Maybe a squirrel will wonder by and he can chase them.
Your quilt is adorable. I really like it.
ReplyDeleteYour cat is a cool character. Love this picture.
Hugs
Your quilt is so sweet! And so is the cat :-)
ReplyDeleteAnother cute one. You are on a mini quilt roll! All I'm guilty of doing is taking the fabrics from failed kits and tossing the contents in my scrap bin. Your kitty is adorable!
ReplyDeleteVery cute mini! Yep, I do that too~ if the kit has a fabric I can't find in yardage, I get the kit and split up the fabrics for my other projects. :-) Boo looks quite serious! Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteI love when our cats think we can't see them. He's a handsome guy. Another beautiful mini quilt.
ReplyDeleteYes, I've done the same things - taken apart a kit. Why waste fabric we obviously loved.
ReplyDeleteAnother yes - seriously hooked on mini quilts. I've made four the past two days. May have to be a big old copy cat and make one like yours. :-)
Love this little quilt. Inspiring. Love seeing Boo there hiding. Stealth cat!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful boy!!! And I love your mini :o) I have de-kitted a kit and put it in my stash, and used a wool crazy kit to work on my own version of a wool crazy, so yup! I have done that :o)
ReplyDeleteLove this scrappy mini! Good repurpose on the kit.
ReplyDeleteIt is so cute and it is also easy to get hooked on the minis. They are so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteBoo is cute too!!
yes, I change-up patterns all the time. it makes it mine. and it is part of the adventure.
ReplyDeletelove you mini!
Boo is so photogenic.
ReplyDeleteI love your four patch quilt. It is fun to try out patterns on smaller quilts.
Like this one bunches!!!! Matches my house too!
ReplyDeleteREally cute! Would you believe I have NEVER bought a quilt kit? For me, half the fun is choosing my own fabrics! LOL
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! And Boo reminds me of my Rodger - so cute also :).
ReplyDeletePeek-a-Boo *s*
ReplyDeleteIt is sooo cute! And yes, I've done that before!
ReplyDeleteToo cute!! I just bought a small display rack that holds 3 small (about 5" wide each) quilts for display. I am itching to make the quilts for it!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT - and the scrappiness of it. Hmmmm do I ever recycle a kit - absolutely - and a lot of times the fabric is just absorbed into the stash. A friend once told me that once I bought something it was mine to do with as I pleased, lol - so I live by that rule.
ReplyDeleteBoo is so sweet looking and I bet he was just waiting for something to surprise and run after :).
Hugs - Karen
I just love your four patch mini! It's beautiful! :0)
ReplyDeleteI would like to now what size squares did you use ? I like this quilt. I have got lots of scraps.
ReplyDeleteAdorable little quilt! I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteOh that mini is as cute as it can be! I do that all the time...I still love the fabric but decide I don't want to make the quilt...pull it apart and use that wonderful fabric. Boo is precious!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful Quilt!

I just leave the kits on the shelf instead of using them for something else. Smart of you to make use of them in such a nice little piece.
ReplyDeleteFunny you should mention that. I was going through my old kits last night. Did some serious talkin' to myself and pulled a few kits apart. My taste has changed ........
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if you still give classes at the quilted bear in Ladner.

ReplyDeleteLove your little Boo. So cute.
That's an adorable little mini! And cute Boo too! ;-D
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is very sweet. I love the white accent you added to it, it really makes the quilt pop. Kind of like the contrast with your kitty!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your mini! Beautiful colours and yes, I have re-purposed a kit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little quilt! I've never used a kit for any other purpose...might have to think about that!
ReplyDeleteKaren :)

Love the little quilt, and your picture of Boo is adorable. We had a cat that looked just like Boo when my daughter was little, but she named her Bootsie.
ReplyDeleteDarling little quilt! Minis are also great for using up scraps! I do love then! Boo, what a great name! Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteVery nice blog, thank you for the details on the shots, it will make me progress.
