4 Patch Mini


Another mini is finished, I didn't use a pattern. I had a small kit for a little quilt that didn't interest me anymore so I used those pieces to sew scrappy 4 patches and this is what happened. I'm so hooked on these mini quilts and having so much fun making them. Does anyone else do that? Use a kit for something other than what it was intended for?

Boo is hiding in the shrubs or at least that's what  he thinks. Maybe a squirrel will wonder by and he can chase them.

    Another cute one. You are on a mini quilt roll! All I'm guilty of doing is taking the fabrics from failed kits and tossing the contents in my scrap bin. Your kitty is adorable!

    Very cute mini! Yep, I do that too~ if the kit has a fabric I can't find in yardage, I get the kit and split up the fabrics for my other projects. :-) Boo looks quite serious! Have a happy day!

    Yes, I've done the same things - taken apart a kit. Why waste fabric we obviously loved.

    Another yes - seriously hooked on mini quilts. I've made four the past two days. May have to be a big old copy cat and make one like yours. :-)

    What a beautiful boy!!! And I love your mini :o) I have de-kitted a kit and put it in my stash, and used a wool crazy kit to work on my own version of a wool crazy, so yup! I have done that :o)

    Too cute!! I just bought a small display rack that holds 3 small (about 5" wide each) quilts for display. I am itching to make the quilts for it!

    LOVE IT - and the scrappiness of it. Hmmmm do I ever recycle a kit - absolutely - and a lot of times the fabric is just absorbed into the stash. A friend once told me that once I bought something it was mine to do with as I pleased, lol - so I live by that rule.
    Boo is so sweet looking and I bet he was just waiting for something to surprise and run after :).

    Oh that mini is as cute as it can be! I do that all the time...I still love the fabric but decide I don't want to make the quilt...pull it apart and use that wonderful fabric. Boo is precious!

    I just leave the kits on the shelf instead of using them for something else. Smart of you to make use of them in such a nice little piece.
