One Finish....One Not

A little 9-Patch quilted and binding sewn down....woohoo....something finished. Pattern is from Country Lane Quilts free patterns. I haven't felt like I've accomplished much lately, but doing these little ones gives me that feeling of having something finished.

The blocks from the Summer Star Sew Along became this little quilt, I changed the setting and only did 6 of the 8 blocks. I'm happy I participated and got a few done. I'm a bit undecided about the green setting fabric....not sure if it's to busy or maybe when it's quilted it will look fine.

Happy Quilting!

  1. The little nine patch is adorable. I've looked at that freebie off and on.

I LOVE the green for the setting blocks and border of your stars. The stars truly sparkle.

  2. Mini quilts are such fun projects... so nice to see results in a short amount of time! I like the green setting... it's unexpected, and that's what makes it special!

  3. I love the green fabric, Wendy. It seems to make the blocks stand out quite nicely. Is this a Civil War fabric? I've made the little 9-patch quilt a couple of times and find it is great for scraps and also for some of those larger prints for the border. The red print you used is wonderful.

  5. Cute minis! How funny - I was playing with some of the fabrics you used in the first picture last night. (Judie's older Christmas line.) I love your green fabric you are undecide yet. It may help to settle your eyes a littl by chosing a binding strip with one of the colors in that fabric? Probably darker pinck or gold?
