I'm making some progress on the Lori Smith blocks, the first one I made is here. I don't have a definite plan for these yet, maybe put in a quilt....any suggestions?. Now that I'm looking at the picture, the vine block doesn't really go with the basket and bunnies. Swoon quilt is coming along, I hope to make some progress this weekend.
Spring has sprung and we had a gorgeous week of warm sun. The cherry blossoms are blooming, I planted this tree last year so this will be the first time seeing it bloom. With spring comes April showers and it's started raining again, the garden will have to wait a bit....it's too wet outside right now.
I found these flowers popping up in my garden, they needed rescuing so I put them in a pot by the back door. I thing they look so pretty.
Happy Spring!
Love your applique blocks. Maybe you could make 3 more to surround the other block.
ReplyDeleteI just adore your applique blocks. The cherry blossom looks lovely too.

LOVE your appliqué squares!!!! Is that needle turn? Great patterns! they all look great together. Why not just use them as pillows? OR...your hubby is handy.frame them in a grouping.
ReplyDeleteWe had snow yesterday and today 30 degrees warmer...it's a gorgeous day. Love seeing sights of Spring here!
Gorgeous appliqué .

Great blocks. Maybe they just need something between them. Beautiful blossoms.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteYour applique blocks are so beautiful! I love Lori Smith's patterns.
ReplyDeleteSO pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous that spring is arriving at your house. Looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteI think you could make a sampler from the blocks and it would look good.
Beautiful blocks, cushions?
ReplyDeleteLovely spring flowers, we are heading to winter here in New Zealand.
Beautiful cherry blossoms, I wish Spring would hurry up and arrive here too!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend
Xx
Spring is such a beautiful time of year! I love both Lori Smith blocks. I see the applique block being the center of a medallion quilt perhaps. Surround it with scrappy hourglass blocks?
ReplyDeleteYour applique is lovely and so are your spring cherry blossoms!
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to sew this weekend too. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteYou can still combine the two blocks together by making more blocks and using fabrics from each in them. I especlally like the bunny block.
ReplyDeleteSpring has definitely arrived here in Victoria. Everything is blooming, and I have a small bird that has made her nest in one of my planters on the railing outside my kitchen door. There are two sweet little light-turquoise eggs in it that she sits on each day.
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks. I think they would look lovely together in a quilt along with more blocks using the same or similar fabrics. Judith
I like both blocks very much! The vine block has such gorgeous color!
ReplyDeleteVery nice applique, but a long way from a quilt. Nice new pillows I think for the front porch chairs - summer is just around the corner.
ReplyDeleteI love your blocks, Wendy. I think they look fabulous together.
ReplyDeleteLove the applique!!
ReplyDeleteThe blocks are beautiful and you have done such lovely applique. I think the blocks will all go together quite well, especially with a bit of sashing between them perhaps. You have tied them together by using similar fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteI love the gate!
