IT'S DONE!!! I had a lot of fun making this quilt and I was amazed at how fast these blocks are to make, it gave me that much needed boost and I'm feeling much better. I used 4 charm packs and some yardage for the black and border. I didn't do the border the same way the pattern instructed, I wasn't keen on doing the piano key border, so instead I put a floral border on this quilt.
Happy Stitching and I hope you have a wonderful day.

I have the same problem. People ask questions that I can't answer. Love the quilt! Hope your weather is getting better. Warmth and sunshine always help!
ReplyDeleteWow I think the floral border works great. Not as busy as a piano key. It make the center the star and pops it right out there...fun and bright for summer! Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteWendy, I love the look of this quilt and have some fabric where this would work perfect. Do you have the size you cut the square and the size of the sashing?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt! Love the look of it. Do you just slice the charm square in half to get the rectangle of colored fabric? Love how you sashed it in black, really makes the colors pop. What did the finished size for the quilt end up being? I just clicked on the picture to see it up close. Great fabrics!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking quilt. I am amazed that it goes up easily as it appears very complicated.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely quilt and a great way to use up charm packs (or maybe scraps?) Thanks for sharing !.......Luv Ann J
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Wendy! I love the black, it really makes the bricks pop. I never thought of using scraps. Ann has a great idea there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice quilt for charm packs, you said it was easy, it looks complicated, love that about some patterns. The black really sets off each piece of fabric.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
Nice! Like the way the black 'floats' those bricks!!
ReplyDeleteReally like the border you used as well.
It doesn't look like an easy pattern and very pretty. I like that floral border over piano keys for this quilt. The quilt just sparkles with color! I'm really liking these colors you've been using lately. Spring time does weird things. Do you think by end of August we'll retreat back to more muted earth tones?
ReplyDeleteNice quilt and the border blends perfectly with the different colors in the quilt.
ReplyDeleteI liked the quilt and then I enlarged the picture - and I LOVE it! the floral border is fantastic and I really like the sashing fabric you used. It looks great with the different fabrics in the quilt. Absolutely fantastic!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I have a bunch of brights and have had this idea for quite a while - thanks for the inspiration to get it going.
ReplyDeleteI love colors surrounded by black. It just makes them pop! Beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Wendy - I think the piano border would have been too busy - the floral is perfect! Do you mind saying what pattern you used?
ReplyDeleteCheers!
This is fabulous! So bright and colourful. The black frames everything so nicely and really makes the colours pop! I like the floral border. Thanks for sharing :)

this is a beautiful quilt. A few years ago my DIL wanted me to do one like that and I got the fabric and cut it. Just before i started sewing it together she called and asked if I could do a jeans quilt instead. The pieces have been used in other quilts but seeing yours I think I would like to try again.
ReplyDeleteI love it, Wendy! I'm glad you're feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThe result is fantastic! I just love it with the black sashing.
ReplyDeleteNice, Wendy. Hope you are full of energy soon!
