I promised my daughter a pretty bag she can take her lunch to work in. Here's what a came up with after looking through many patterns. This one was easy...YES....I like easy. I still need to put the plastic lining inside. She requested the plastic, it's the stuff used for table cloths, I picked the light weight plastic which won't be too stiff inside. I think she'll like it, her birthday is on Monday, I'll give it to her then.
I found this little cutie in my UFO pile. I only needed to add the outer x-stitch border and it was done. I have no idea why I didn't finish it, when I was so close to being done.
Happy Stitching.
Happy Stitching.
very cute bag. Maybe you can keep making more. Nice choice of fabric
ReplyDeleteLovely colourful bag!! Your daughter will happily use it!!
ReplyDeleteOh lovley tulips and a delightful bag - how nice to have it plastic lined. I might add some lining to the one I carry my lunch in.
ReplyDeleteNice x-stitch - isn't it funny how we get stuck and almost done and then leave off working on it. Looking forward to seeing it done.
We are getting wind and a thread of rain down here today - so I'm guessing you will be getting some soon too - sorry. At least you can stay indoors and play if it rains.
Love your tulips, isn't it so nice to have flowers blooming!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter will be delighted in her new lunch bag, much more chic than a pail....lol...
Love your xstitch, its whimsy is so fun...How will you use it?
Great finish! Your bag is just wonderful...your daughter will love it...and those tulips are gorgeous...gosh I wish they would grow here.
ReplyDeleteGood Job Wendy! You had a treasure in that UFO pile. I don't know that I want to spend much time in the garden. Just the other day DH accidentally caught a little green garden snake with the weed whacker and then I found a big black snake! Good thing he was fast and more scared of me. EEK!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun lunchbag . . . . all her colleagues are going to want one, too *s*
ReplyDeleteMy solution to cleaning up the sewing room was to do it with a friend. Made it a pleasant job!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric you used for the lunch bag. Finish that cross stitch, it's lovely. Thanks for the colour today!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tulips - gorgeous bag - you sure haven't been wasting time!

Wow! Adorable bag - and the stitchery is incredible!! Will it be framed, or turned into something else? Great job!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice bag - love the fabric you used. Yes - it is cleaning time here in my sewing room too. And yes - I am procrastinating on that. I'm almost to the point where I can't do anything in there.
ReplyDeleteThat will make for a wonderful birthday gift. I like the idea of plastic.
ReplyDeleteThe stitchery is lovely. What are your plans for it? Isn't it funny how we burn out on something when we are so close to finishing it?
Your tulips are so very pretty! Mine are just starting to show buds! Yea!!

Love your tulips! mine has just sprouted out of the ground.
ReplyDeleteI really like your Quilt Bricks quilt
and I think the floral border is better than a busy piano key border.
Easy way of making bags is definitely
the way to go! and your DD will love it, of course!
Glad to hear and see that your energy has returned :^)
Great lunch bag. I love the nice bright colours. I never would have thought to put plastic inside... you're so clever. Happy B'Day to your daughter.
ReplyDeleteYour tulips are beautiful. Mine fizzled :0( I planted a whole bunch of bulbs and 2 bloomed. Lousy winter this year.
I did the same last week - with the nice weather I was out in the garden weeding... getting ready for your visit -LOL. Isn't it amazing how easy it is to email and yet how hard --LOL Lord know what I am doing since I don't seem to accomplish anything!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful tulips Wendy and the bag is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh I have to make one of those, Wendy! My REI lunch bag is so akward to carry - I only use it because of the plastic lining for my freezer pack!
