Jenny

I had mixed feelings about whether this was appropriate to post or not, then I remembered why I started blogging in the first place. I started blogging to share my adventures in quilting and Jenny had been a huge part of that journey. She was there with every quilt I made and she loved to be in my sewing room with me, her hair is sewn into all my quilts. She was there to watch me pick fabrics, cutting (sometimes getting ever so close to the blade), she'd walk in front of my sewing machine while I'm feeding fabric through or sometimes she was happy to just watch me. Jenny's favourite spot was sleeping in the middle of my ironing board. I didn't mind working in the small space she left for me. Jenny was a very verbal cat, when I walked in a room and said "Hi Jenny" she always popped her head up with a welcoming "Meow, meow, I'm so glad to see you". She verbalized everything from when she is hungry, wanted outside to play and even when she needed a lap to sleep on. Jenny was a very needy cat and was a big part of my daily routine. She spent most of her time following me around the house, jumping on my lap every opportunity she could get, racing me down the stairs for breakfast every morning (doing her best to try and trip me) and fighting me for the most comfy chair. She loved it when she could get a taste of something sweet, Jenny loved licking up the sweet milk left over from our morning oatmeal. She'd stick her paw in my glass of egg nog to get a taste and watch out if anyone was eating cream cheese. Jenny was a week away from her 17th birthday and lived a very happy and playful life. My quilting routine will never be the same without her. DH and I miss her terribly.

I know how that is and am sorry for your loss. I had 2 17 year old cats that passed a few years back and they were great friends and companions. Now I still have 2. They are a little younger, 8, but they do their routines with me every day and we love them dearly. My thoughts are with you. Jenny was lucky to have someone who cared about her and kept her company too!

Wendy, I am so very sad for you on the passing of Jenny. I was crying when reading your blog as our dear sweet baby passed away a few weeks ago and she used to spend time in my sewing room and on the ironing board in the sun also. I am positive your Jenny and our Nala are spending time now on a much warmer ironing board and smiling contently.

(((((Wendy)))) My heart goes out to you and your hubby. That was such a moving and loving tribute to Jenny and brought tears to my eyes. I had my Tinkerbell for 19 years and I still think about her, they become such important members of the family when they are with you for so long and have such personality. I'm so glad you decided to share, it was very appropriate.

Thank you for posting about Jenny. I don't know if being a cat person or a quilt person comes first but they are inseparable in my book.

And she will be inseparable from your heart. Remember no one is ever going to love you as unconditionally or think as much of you as Jenny.

God bless, Mary

I'm sorry to read about Jenny. I'm certain that you must miss her dearly.

As soon as I saw her picture, she reminded me of the cat Chessie that was used in by one of the railroads in the early 1900's.

Such sweet words about your sweet friend, Jenny, and such sweet memories - hold them dear, never let them go , remmeber her always, with a laugh at silly antics, or tears because your heart aches so for her not being with u anymore!!! I have lost in my lifetime of 40 yrs -evewrything from hamsters to kitties to doggies to horses! The pain is always near - of xourse it gets better ,but (esp, with some) it never goes away, nor should it, for those that mean so much to us in their precious lives should mean much to us at their loss!!! May you be refreshed and remmber the good times fondly and soon not cry at every thought as im sure u do!
