The Girls Are Back!

The Polka Dot Girls that is. I'm so happy, I finally got around to machine quilting this quilt. I decided on the cross hatch pattern because if I just go around the stitcheries they would pop from the quilt. This is simple and I don't think it takes away from the embroidery. I used a fine thread in a light colour to not cover up the stitching. I'm still working on the binding and then I'll take a picture of the whole quilt. If you want to see others making this same quilt visit this blog dedicated to PDG's.

More than a week ago I won a giveaway on Carol's blog. She sent me the Crazy Eight charm pack with this sweet cherry card. Thanks so much Carol, you are a sweetie. I'm so excited to win something....woohoo this is awesome. I'll have fun making a little quilt with this bundle.
I just had to post this picture of Lula. She is getting comfortable with us and loves to cuddle.

Oh those Polka Dot Girls - they are so sweet. The cross-hatching is just perfect. It might be simple, but often that's just what we need to make a quilt *sing*

It's going to be so fun to keep checking you blog...not that it wasn't before. But what I'm saying is that Lula photos will be my kitty fix! She is really starting to look as though she owns the place! LOL I'm so happy for you.
As for you quilt....I love that cross hatching through the embroidery and thread choice was perfect! Do tell...what was it? As you know I've got embroidery quilt patterns and one of the things that drives me nuts is them popping out if you don't quilt over them. Thread choice is of utmost importance to let that embroidery work shine! Fantastic!

Your polka dot girls are beautiful! I really like the cross-hatching on them. Might try it myself one of these days.

Lulu is a sweetie and what a bonus that she likes to cuddle.

I think you picked the perfect choice for quilting! It's wonderful! I'm so happy you came along and adopted Lula, I hate to see animals get returned to shelters because they didn't fit into some else's idea of the "perfect" pet. She's found the perfect home and is finally happy and starting to shine!

Your quilt is looking great. Do you have any problems machine quilting over the embroidery? I have been contemplating how to quilt some of my embroidery quilts and I like what you have done. Lula is beautiful. She has such a sweet face.

Lula does look as though she is getting much more comfortable.

Love the girls!! They look like such fun to work on too.

The charm pack will look great when it is made up. The fabrics are wonderful.

The cross hatching is perfect for PDG's - I really like that when you don't want to take away from the embroidery!
Cheers!

Hi Wendy,
I always look forward to your posts. The quilt turned out so nice. The girls are so cute gathered together doing their stitchery.
The picture of Lula is beautiful. My goodness, she has a lovely face. I am so glad she is coming around for you to enjoy her more. Your such a loving person, that it doesn't surprise me that she has learn to trust you so quickly.
Take care and have a wonderful week.
Hugs,
Karen

Lula is so dang cute and I'm so happy you found each other. There's nothing like someone around during the day for us to fuss over. It looks like she's adjusting well and I'm sure enjoying lots of love and snuggles.

Your PDG's are adorable and your quilting looks wonderful. Bet it's nice to have that one off the list and on the wall.

Hugs - Karen

I just saw your comment on Karen's site and thought I'd share. I have a friend who went through the same thing...stroke and a found hole, and she's doing great. No real side affects, except that she tires a little more easily, but she's doing great! My heart goes out to your family and I pray for a full recovery!
Also, I saw your watermelon quilt and wondered what pattern that is? It's beautiful!!
