Cotton Boll

This is going to be my first ever mystery quilt....I decided to jump in and try Bonnie's Roll Roll Cotton Boll challenge. I usually like to see the quilt I'm making before cutting up my fabrics. With this mystery quilt, I'm so intrigued by the colours she's given for the quilt.....so here I go....lets see what happens along the way. I've finished step one piecing the pink and green strips....woohoo.

Happy Quilting!

I just keep seeing this mystery quilt popping up everywhere and it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun! I seriously think I need to try it too. I LOVE love the fabrics you've chosen. Gorgeous. I too would find it hard to cut fabrics before seeing the quilt, but I like what I'm seeing so far with yours! Love your kitty pics too!

Ok, that is it. I like your fabrics and have many of them, so I am in too. Have a little catch up to do.

I am not real brave about trying mystery quilts. Bonnie's always seem to turn out good.

I think this going to be really pretty...I have done 5 or 6 mystery quilts down in CA when I lived there. I always sressed about the fabrics..we were never give the colors, just a light med dark and accent kind of instruction..so Boo Boo is home to stay right?? Okay need to get back in the kitchen...Thanks for sharing, Wendy

I thought long and hard about this one BUT 1) I don't have any pinks and 2) I haven't finished her mystery quilt from 2 years ago! Maybe I'll just wait until the quilt is finished until I decide! Not much mystery there.

Plenty of bloggers doing this one. I'll watch your progress...wish I could sneak and tell you what it looked like. :-)

I recognize so many of these fabrics from my Trail Mix quilt I'm working on. I think I'm going to really like this color palette. Great look so far.

Good for you Wendy! I have always been intrigued by Bonnie Hunter's Mystery quilts - I really loved the one with the all the Cheddar and Pink - I think it was called Double Delight. But the thought of starting something new when I have so much I could finish....like Phoenix's baby quilt!

I am looking forward to seeing your progress

This weekend I've been cutting for Bonnie's Mystery Quilt....from last year. I'm finally getting to Carolina Christmas. I love the colors in this one, so I'll be watching this one come to life. Have fun with it!

I'm sure looking forward to hearing Pat's interview of you on her radio program.

I don't think a mystery quilt is my thing, I wouldn't want to cut up my fabrics not knowing if I like how they will end up. Maybe I'm just a stick in the mud I guess. But your fabric choices are really cute!

I really like the fabrics you picked out, they look alot like some of mine! :D I think this will be a really cool quilt when it is done but right now I am getting tired of all the strips. LOL I don't keep them cut and stored like Bonnie does, not enough room, so I am cutting them now.

Have you made any more progress on the Cotton Boll mystery quilt? I've yet to do one of her mysteries, but I will at some point. She's coming to my quilt guild this February (just two months!) and I am so thrilled!
