Making Layer Cakes

Wow...2 posts in 2 days, that's a record for me. I made this layer cake pincushion yesterday. It's so cute and sweet, look girls you can have cake and not worry about the calories. I had plans to make the cupcake pincushion in the book but when I read the directions and there was a margarine container in the supply list and then I kept reading about easing the fabric to fit the container...yuck, I quickly decided it wasn't going to happen...way too fussy for me. I'll pick something that I know will be fun and easy.

You can find the pattern in this book. Have fun making "cake". I think I'll make more cake today.

These are really cute! Do they have a nice one for wrists? The commercial ones in plastic with black blob on the top don't fit well and leave much to be desired in attractiveness!! Maybe a piece of cake would look good?

how cute. these would be great for someone like me who has a gazillion different types of pins. could keep them neatly seperated from each other.

That is so pretty. I wouldn't want to put something plastic in a pincushion either! I like the quilt on the cover of the book as well. Oh, and a belated happy birthday! :)

Now this looks like a fun place to come and visit..... lots of interesting things to look at and to read.

I love the word 'snippets'...so of course I was drawn to your title when I saw it on someone else's site.

Although I'm not a quilter I love admiring the creative beauties other people make.

You'd be welcome to stop by my place... I enjoy writing about living a beautiful life.

Adorable pin cushions! I'm with you on margagine containers. heck! It'd be expensive cuz I'd have to go out and buy a container! lol I wonder if paper mache wound boxes would work. I have one of those! ;o)
