Redwork

Posted by Picasa
I'm really enjoying the Bunnyhill basket BOM done in redwork. When I first saw the applique version I was very excited and finished the first applique block in a couple of days. And then Darlene showed her version done in redwork, I was hooked...Thanks Darlene for sharing your version....I love stitching and redwork is so relaxing. The applique is not going to happen, I have one block that will be a pillow or something.

I hope you had a good National Quilting Day, I spent the day working but I'll make up for it soon.

Like you Wendy I did the first applique block and then stalled so I may do this sort of thing instead - maybe in blues I'm thinking !

Yep....I'm not going to get them done in applique either from the looks of things and other projects. I do like them in redwork and remembered seeing Darlene's post on that...dang that girl is Speedy!

The baskets look wonderful in redwork Wendy. I am appliqueing mine, but think I will also do it in redwork. But not until I finish it in applique! :) Also, love how you did the row of 'X's' along the tops of the baskets. Very nice.

Nice work, Wendy. Everyone of us should have a project like this because it does melt tension besides producing something lovely!

Your stitching is lovely! I'm sticking with the applique version, as I really enjoy both types of work, but the more I see the redwork, the more I think I might end up with two of these quilts eventually!

Since my sewing room is packed away, the redwork seems like it would be easy to pull together. I might have to think on this one some more.

Love how your blocks are turning out. I'm plodding through my blocks. Still need to prep. February and March. I'm hoping to do that this weekend.

Take care!

Your blocks are beautiful. I'm saving the patterns, but haven't started them just yet. I think I'm going to "copy" and do the embroidery in just one color (maybe red, maybe another color.) Thanks for sharing! :)

Superb blog much more complete and practical. It will take me months to "catch up" with my delay.
A big thank-you.
