Sat I had the most awesome day of sewing. This was a one day retreat hosted by Maureen owner of Creative Edge Quilt Shop (no website). Actually I've had a couple of good sewing days last week. I started the blocks for this little topper at my stitching group and now it's ready for quilting. It's a Schnibbles pattern called Hot Cross. And then Sat I started a new quilt by making these basket blocks, another quilt pattern from my newest favourite book called Scrap Basket Surprises. Here is the first quilt I made from this book.

I have to tell you Maureen is a wonderful host, she had all our needs and wants taken care of including a gift for each person and prizes throughout the day. She also cooked the most delicious Greek dinner. She must have been cooking for days to feed all us hungry quilters. It was a wonderful day! The next post I'll show a few pictures of the show and tell.

Happy Quilting. Until next time.

You have definitely been productive. Aren't times like this just the best? The more productive I am, the more energetic I am to do even more.

I'm seeing Schnibbles being made & described in blogs all over. I may have to get some of those patterns. They're so cute.
Love both projects!

Sounds great! I'm a sucker for basket blocks, so I may try those. As I said before, I've had my eyes on that book for a while. If you keep showing these photos, I'm going to have to break down and buy it!

A fun time quilting with friends is always good! I love the schnibbles x's and the baskets are wonderful too. It's a different basket then I've see before and I like how it looks like it is perching so daintily on the HST. Very nice!

I am such a sucker for a basket quilt. I do have that book and must look up that pattern!
This is pretty funny--the secret word I had to decipher prior to posting is "doped". Just how fabric makes me feel!

Yum Yum Yummy - love this pattern and your fabric choices. The basket quilt is adorable as well - me love basket quilts. Can't wait for the show and tell, you've been a busy girl and being away to sew always produces more doesn't it. There's no distractions of everyday life- just you and the machine :).

I spent my Saturday making those exact basket blocks!!!! They were from a kit I bought at a quilt show over a decade ago. I don't have the photos on my blog yet, but I will probably post tomorrow.
