A Little of This and That

The weather has turned for the worst here. We've been enjoying cool fall days with lots of sun. Today the wind and rain has started, it seems so much colder when it's wet wind. This last weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving, we enjoyed our family gathering with lots of yummy turkey.

I've been working on my Christmas Stitchery that I started here, it's a pattern by Lynette Anderson. This is the outer border of a small wallhanging. I'll show it again when I get it all together.
I decided to get out my oldest UFO which I think might be 6 years old. Some of my friends might recognize this fabric, a few of us started this quilt together, it's called Hollywood and Vines. Only one of us from the group finished her quilt and that was last year. She now lives far away and we miss her very much. Look Bev I'm working on mine again...Thanks to you, I'm soooo excited. I love the blacks, beige's and reds. The reds are in the alternate block which I still need to start.

The quilt is going to be queen size for my bed. I hope I can stay focused and get this one finished soon.

Those are very dramatic, lovely blocks. Looking forward to seeing the quilt on your bed.
I'm trying to ignore my UFOs, but they're quietly calling to me from the back room. Time to tackle a few.

Don't you love Lynette Anderson's patterns? That little reindeer is very cute. 6 years - good for you. When you finish you will have to celebrate with some new fat quarters or something.

No matter how old a fabric is, beautiful is beautiful, and I really like those fabrics! Can't wait to see it finished.

Lynette's Christmas quilt is looking mighty fine, too.

Happy Thanksgiving! Glad you hear you had a nice gathering. I just purchased that stitchery from Lynette at Quilt Market. I am excited about beginning it at some point. I love your combination of colors on the blocks you are working on.

Hi Wendy, I've stopped by your blog before, but just went back and read through some of your older posts. I recognized Quiltopia when I saw the pictures... you said it's a 45 minute drive for you. Where do you live? I'm in Abbotsford. Small world!
I love all you're working on, especially the stitcherie... but then again, I'm a Santa gal!
Have a great night, Kimberly

Oh, this is a pretty quilt. Our weather (in Alberta) is nasty. Just to think, it was +34 about three weeks ago.
