It's been a rough week so far with an unpleasant accident between my finger and rotary blade and then waking up looking like someone had taken red paint to my eye ball, it doesn't hurt but it looks like I've been in a fight or something....not sure what happened. I hope I don't scare anyone.....I get scared when I look myself in the mirror....eek, maybe I should make a patch....yeah....the first quilted eye patch....I could patent that and sell lots....LOL. Anyway, my finger is recovering and the doctor said it will be about a week for the red to go away. I had big plans to finish the alternate blocks and sashing for the Cobblestone Lane quilt, it's still in progress and really nothing to show...my big plans fell apart. Well onto more exciting things.....In just over a week, I'll soon be half way around the world visiting
here and
here....maybe riding a friendly camel...LOL. No sewing will be going on but I have plans for stitching while on the plane.
Have a good weekend, Thanks for stopping by, until next time.

Ouch! I have nicked myself with the rotary blade but never anything serious. And I am glad you paid a visit to the doctor about your eye. That can be scary.
Maybe I can get Dear Hubby to right a first aid book for quilters! (He's an athletic trainer) We could buy a lot of fabric between that and your eye patch!
We lived in Cairo, Egypt for over three years while hubby was over Marriott hotels in the Middle East, back from early 1992 til late 1995. Kids went to school in Maadi - a place you might consider checking out.
Also, the Khan el Kalili (I'm sur the spelling is off) is an experience worth doing.
Hope you heal before your wonderful journey begins.
Oh what a fun trip!! I'm sorry about your eye and finger :( I hate it when I have big sewing plans and then something comes along and messes them up! Looking forward to your trip should help--have an amazing time!! Can't wait to see pictures and hear all about it :)
Oh man. Good thing your finger should be better by your trip. Have a WONDERFUL time! My sister in law just got back from Egypt!
Oh my gosh, Wendy...I am so sorry you have been in such pain. I know about those rotaty cuts. I did that when I was at Two Thimbles, just starting out.
Wow, that's so exciting that you're traveling to Egypt and Paris too. I would love to go to Paris someday, but hubby isn't interested in international traveling, so I don't know if that will ever happen.
I wish you well and have a wonderful time on your trip.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention how much I love that little pincushion you have there. I have always admired your sewing. You have such an eye for putting fabrics together and making beautiful quilts.
Cute pincushion! A rough week, indeed. I hope everything heals quickly.

Wow! What a wonderful vacation! By the way...how do you manage to sew on a plane? Can you carry scissors and needles?
Oh my goodness Wendy! The rotary cutter went a wee bit postal did it?! This news just sends chills down the back side of me. It sounds like you'll be mended before your big trip and boy does it ever sound like a blast. I've been to Paris but never Egypt. I have traveler's envy.
When can I expect you back?
Sorry about your finger - ouch! Have a great time on your travels - there may be some wonderful fabrics available in the markets.
Sorry to hear about your finger and your eye. But how exciting to go to Paris and Egypt! Can't wait to hear your stories and see your photos. Have a fantastic time!
YIKES Wendy - hope your finger will be OK. I dropped our crockpot liner into my cast iron sink - nuttin to the sink, but got a couple of nice cuts to the fingers - but no stitches. We a pair aren't we, lol. Have a wonderful time on your trip and look forward to great pics when you get back.

What a trip you are going on!! You will need to take lots of photos.
Ouch! Unfortunately these things happen to us from time to time. Hope your finger heals fast and that your eye is better soon.
Hi Wendy. I had a rotary cutter misadventure at a quilt retreat - those are not fun!
Boy -- sounds like you are in for quite the adventure!! Have a fabulous time!

The trip of a lifetime to be sure. Are you planning on buying any Egyptian cotton? *wink*
Bon voyage. Take lots of pictures!
I noticed your eye when I was in the other day. Thing is I was out shopping with DH yesterday and one of his eyes all of a sudden looked like a blood vessel had broken or something. It was red on one side like yours. Maybe it's a virus or something.
OUCH!!! Hope your finger gets better real soon. A trip of a lifetime, Paris alone, but also Egypt!!!!! Thanks for stopping by and entering my giveaway. I must go and read the rest of your posts....
