Two Borders and One Kitchen

Here is what has been keeping me busy.....one kitchen needing a face lift. We are replacing the doors on the cabinets with new ones and before they can be installed, the remaining outer cabinets need to be primed and painted. I still have one more coat of paint to finish. Then comes the new granite counter top, sink and facets. Oh then after all that is done we still need to get the tile back splash done and then the entire kitchen needs to be painted......I'm just guessing this will be going on for a long time.
I did have a sewing day to get the borders on these 2 quilts. The ladybugs look a bit random....I'm sure I followed the pattern, oh well.....I like the whimsy look.

I wasn't sure about adding a border to this quilt because it wasn't part of the pattern. When it's quilted and bound I think it'll be "just fine".

You've been a busy girl, Wendy. Your kitchen is going to be beautiful. I hope you'll show an 'after' picture.

Your ladybug quilt is very whimsical. I like the border on the second quilt - looks great.

I know just how you feel! We are putting new floors down everywhere in the downstairs, including the kitchen. Which means new cabinets....and while the furniture is all put away, we might as well paint EVERYTHING! This will take a while!

How fun to be getting a kitchen update!! WEll, I guess the fun will come once it's all done:)

I really like the border on the Ocean Waves quilt. That is a fantastic quilt!!
Love the random ladybugs too. Very cute!!

Have fun with the kitchen remodel! I'd like to put in a new sink and faucet here. Not sure that will happen any time soon though. That second quilt looks great with the added border! :0)

I do like the whimisical look of the lady bugs. And the border looks good on the second quilt. You did good.

Your quilts are gorgeous!! I love the random ladybugs!! Perfect!! And you were right to add a border to the second quilt...just ties it up nicely!! Love them both!!
Your kitchen is going to be worth all the effort you are putting into it! We gutted our kitchen 10 years ago and bumped it out 10 feet and then added new cabinets, granite and rounded topped windows...it's still my favourite room in the house!! SO worth it!!
You will see!! Make sure you post your after pictures!! Can't wait to see them!
Take care!

Very cute ladybug quilt! I like the border on the second quilt, the border makes the light and dark contrast really well. Think how happy you'll be once your kitchen facelift is completed. As much time as we spend in the kitchen it's worth it.

Every quilt you do, I say, "Oh, I like that one best". Truthfully, ALL of them are gorgeous! The ocean wave with big waves ?? is spectacular. How do you accomplish so much?? Thanks for all the inspiration!

Oh, we want to do the same to our kitchen. Now that we have hardwood, the cupboards and counters need a facelift. Good for you. I like your two quilts also. The border on the bottom one is striking, seems to pull it together. Way to go!

Your new kitchen is going to be wonderful Wendy. It does seem like it goes on forever but once it's done you forget how long it really took.
Love both quilts but the ladybug one is tooooo cute.

Hang in there on your kitchen reno - it seems like a trial while the work is going on . . . . but so worth it when you are enjoying your new space *s*

I feel your kitchen pain -- we need to redo ours and I just can't get up the ooomph to do it -- don't want to live with the mess, I guess. Pretty quilts -- I really like the addition of the border on that second one!

Love them both, the borders look perfect to me.

Both of the quilts are really pretty. I especially love the one on the bottom, though.

Good luck with your kitchen project!

I believe our kitchen took 3 months to complete. I was so glad to have a sink again for washing dishes which sounds silly to those who already have sinks *LOL* Haven't seen you lately. I'll need to come down to the shop on a Thursday one of these weeks.

I can relate about your kitchen situation. We are getting ready to tackle ours doing pretty much the same things you mentioned. Both of the quilts look great! Hope to see kitchen updates as you go...good luck.

Fixing up the kitchen, very time consuming but you will be so happy when it is done. Love both your tops. I like the ladybugs randomly placed.
