9 Patch Quilt

I started working on this before going away, these 9-patches were part of a swap (3" finished) from last year. I still have LOTS more and will likely be making a few quilts using them. This one will be a little wallhanging for my sewing room, I think it's less than 40" square. Lula wants to get in the picture.

I noticed the magnolia trees started blooming yesterday, spring must be not far off.....woohoo.

Happy Quilting.

Awesome setting for the 9 patch blocks, Wendy.

We hit 100 degrees earlier this week - whew - way too early. ugh!

Love your little quilt!!!

I like that You have set four nine patches with the same background creating larger blocks. Thus making a larger nine patch when nine blocks are sewn together. Good idea.

Lula coordinates so well with your little quilt (lol). I really like how you laid out the blocks.

Nine patches are some of my favorites - and those are just lovely. Our magnolias are blooming too - and lots of fluffy white and pink trees are blooming too - but it is pouring rain and cold - I wish it would warm up a bit.

Love it, Wendy!

I have a slew of 6" CW nine patch blocks from a swap that I took part in last year as well that are just waiting for me to do something with. I absolutely love the setting you chose for yours.

Oh Wendy.....this is perfect in my home! You say you have more patches...hint! LOL I participated in the swap and opted for the 6" squares....wishful thinking should have went for smaller now that I see this cutie!

Nine patches set on point are one of my favorites! I like the different values of setting fabrics you used.

The year before my twins were born I hosted an ongoing mini 9-patch swap. We didn't want the expense fo mailing monthly so I assigned colors for each quarter and we swapped 4 times a year! It was sooo fun. I had between 25-40 quilters participating and some that sent up to 20 sets at a time. That's 200 mini patches each mailing per person!!!

I have over 800 here of my own that I made and swapped and have yet to do anything with them! *gasp*

I love your little wall hanging you have made with yours. The warm tones in the background squares are perfect! What a great project!

Love from Texas! ~bonnie

Just adorable. Would love to make one but I don't think it would make much of an impact on my stash! What cat doesn't want to be on a quilt on the floor?!
