Sew Along

I've finished the quilting and binding on my 4 patch civil war quilt. I liked the sashing in between the blocks and then added the little 4 patch in the cornerstones. Don't have the exact dimensions of the quilt but it's a nice lap size. The little squares are 1" finished.
Making some progress on the American Patchwork and Quilting sew along in the Feb issue. These blocks are 15" and those little squares again are 1" finished.
I'm thinking this will become another lap quilt with 12 blocks. The piecing is taking so long and extra attention needed with the pressing. I've decided to just press all the seams open on these blocks, keeps them nice and flat without extra bulk.

Happy Quilting.

Love your Civil War 4 Patch... is it flannel? It would be a favorite lap quilt in this house!

Those American P&Q blocks are adorable... they do look like a lot of work...but definitely worth it!

I LOVE the Civil War quilt and the colours are really lovely. As for the blocks you are making if ironing them the way you prefer works then why not? I think we all improvise from time to time to mske life easier. Lovely work as usual.

Cozy lap quilt! The SAL blocks look great, but time consuming.

Love your choice of fabrics for the American Patchwork & Quilting sew along. It's going to be beautiful when finished. I decided not to do one, I don't think I have the patience for the attention needed. Too many other things to do anyway. The Civil War quilt looks great, and the cornerstones are a nice touch.

Love the Civil War quilt. I'd love to make one like that for hubby. It's a beauty! Your American Patchwork one is certainly going to be amazing too. I got the magazine, but thought it too time-consuming for me.
