Lil Twister Heart

Has it really been a week already? I bet you've heard that one before... I made the little twister heart I think last year but didn't do anything with it. With Feb just around the corner, I pulled this out and finished it into a small wallhanging. I've hung it in my kitchen above the cabinets on this old window frame. Now if I only had more in a similar size to change it out each month.

Little Bits

It's been a quiet start to 2014. I'm working on machine quilting my 4patch quilt. I'm happy with how it's looking so far.
Quilt Mania has come out with Simply Vintage in English starting with Issue No. 8 which I found at Chapters book store on Christmas eve. No I don't shop on Christmas Eve but my daughter was working that day and we stopped in to see her.  While waiting I was browsing the magazine section and found the Autumn Issue. Last week she found the Winter Issue for me. This magazine is FULL of projects, you won't be disappointed.
Doing a little redwork. These are Sunbonnet Sue's for each month. I'm working on June now, they go pretty fast.

Le Jardin Another Block

Finished another block for Le Jardin quilt, I think this is the biggest block so far. At least it seemed to take me a long time to stitch. Haven't done any embellishment on these blocks, I'll wait until they are all done.
Started working on some of the Sew Along blocks. These are in the Feb 2014 issue of Better Homes and Garden Quilt Magazine. The blocks are super scrappy and take a fair bit of time for each block. Haven't decided yet how many of these I will make, the pattern shows 20 but I'm pretty sure mine will be less than that.

Happy Quilting.

Happy New Year!

Just popping in to say to all my friends near and far, All the Best for 2014! I don't make resolutions as I know it won't happen and I don't want to disappoint myself.  Your posts bring me joy, even if I can't always comment. Thank You for your continued friendships and I look forward to the wonderful inspiration you provide me throughout the year. My list is ever growing because of you!

Lula is only looking slightly annoyed, she usually runs away when I try and take her picture. She was so comfortable in this bag I was making, she didn't move. I can always count on her when it's time to cuddle.

Cheers!

Last Minute Gifts

I finished up these redwork ornaments for my girls, I left the edges raw and did a running stitch. I hope to make this a tradition of making something different for them each year. It's never too late to start a new tradition. Owls are very popular this year, I think they might like them.
Some progress on the Le Jardin block, Christmas has made it slow going right now. I think there are 3 more blocks to go.
Boo Boo is saying Merry Christmas!

Le Jardin Block

In between all the hectic organizing for Christmas, I finished this block. I think this is number 5. I'm still enjoying the back basting method of applique.
We went this week to the out door Vancouver Christmas Market. It's based on the markets in Germany with little wooden huts selling food and other gift items. Some of the wooden ornaments are hand made and hand painted. We didn't buy any as they were pretty pricey. We did have sausage and Hot Spiced Wine with rum.......yum so good and it kept us warm for the night of shopping.

If you want to see more pictures of my sewing and other things, I've started using Instagram, follow the link here or you can always find the link on my side bar.

O Christmas Tree

I finished the quilting on the tree runner this week and worked on the binding yesterday. I like how it looks on the table. I'm undecided about what kind of a center piece would work. You can find the free pattern on The Shabby Fabrics blog.
A little stitched pillow I made last year. I'll be doing more Christmas project stitching this weekend.
Have you done your decorating for Christmas?

Happy Decorating!
