Need to Focus

I've started a sock class last week and for the next class we are to have 2 socks ready for the heel. As you can see I've got mine done...yippee. The third class will be finishing the toe, so by the end of 3 weeks I'll have a pair of socks. I haven't knitted in about 15 years and suddenly had this urge to learn to knit socks, I haven't even done a sweater. The urge came from reading blogs with wonderful pictures. I see all the beautiful stuff you guys are creating and I get inspired to give it a try. That's why I enjoy reading all your blogs.

It's taken me about 1 week to finish (or not) this one basket block, I feel not focused at all. I even met with 2 quilting buddies on Friday to get the block done but it didn't happen. Don't know if you can see there are still some pins where I haven't sewn yet. The redwork block again I started a week ago and I'm so close to finishing. I think the socks have interrupted my rhythm and was too focused on getting my class homework done.

That applique block is adorable. Your stitchery project is sweet and I envy your sock project. I tried to learn how to knit recently. I had a strong desire to knit a pair of socks and then decided that I should just buy my socks at Target. :-)

The socks are turning great! I love knitting socks as well but my family told me they didn´t need more! Such a shame with all the lovely wool around! Beautiful appliqué job even if it is not completely finished.

Great job on the socks - I have difficulty remembering how to cast on *s* I did take a class a couple of years ago, made a couple of scarves, a few hats and thought I was ready for socks . . . but 4 needles with no 'stopper' at the end to keep my stitches on? Who needs socks *lol* I went right back to quilts.

Your basket block is beautiful. I have this Barbara Brackman book and I love it, and some day I hope to make this basket quilt too.

Nice socks. I used to be an avid knitter in my early 20's. As I get older, I find I can only have so many hobbies. My rug hooking project has been sitting in the corner for so long. Who know when my daughter will finally get her wool rug. Oh well, c'est la vie. BTW, I want to thank you for commenting on the blog entry regarding my daughter's placemat. It meant a great deal to her. She had a blast reading what everyone had to say. Thank you for your kindness and thougthfulness.

I have this same issue being a multi-crafter. I just have to make prioritized lists and put all crafts on them so I accomplish something in all areas. Love the basket block!

WOW - The socks look great, I really like the color you chose. The basket block is very prety and you will get it finished. I love the red work stitchery - is it a Bronwyn Hayes design?

The basket block is really pretty.

I see the quilting/blogging world has become busy making socks, I can imagine they would be great fun to have - warm, funky, knitted socks. I have never tried knitting socks. I don't think it is in me though :))
