I wanted to make a new sewing notion bag for the retreat this weekend. I finished hand sewing in the zipper last night, not so fun. Don't know if you can see from the pattern I changed the outside of the bag. The pattern calls for Charm Squares, I had everything all ready to go using Roman Holiday fabric and then decided to make up my own design. Now that the bag is done I'm thinking it would make a really good toiletries bag. The pattern is from This & That Patterns.
I've got my halo and soon I'll be heading for my retreat....yippee....

Oh my gosh, you sewed the zipper by hand!!!! Now that's dedication.. Love your bag, hope you have a wonderful time at the retreat, and just love your charm quilt.

I looked up the original pattern and I have to say I like yours better. Why did you sew the zipper by hand? If you have a zipper foot it's not hard at all by machine.
Sewing in a zipper by hand - OMG!!! On someone's blog there is a zipper tutorial .... I will find it for you and send it on. Have a wonderful time at the retreat.
Your sewing bag is soooo cute. Love the colours. I agree sewing zippers by hand is not fun. But now I have found a tecnique that makes it easy.

I bought that pattern at the Sewing/Craft show. It sure looks cute. I really want to make it and bought a couple of zippers. Can't you sew them in by machine? I don't think I'm up to sewing a zipper by hand.
