Doll Quilt swap

I participated in Humble Quilts Doll Quilt Swap recently. This is the pink and brown doll quilt I received from Mary G. She did a lovely big stitch quilting, I love how it looks and the pink and brown is one of my favourite combinations.
This is the doll quilt I sent Mary C., it was fun to participate in this swap. It wasn't the usual one on one swap but instead it was a surprise who I would be getting a quilt from. I love doing these swaps! Thanks Lori for organizing.

Le Jardin

Working on the last block of this Bunnyhill Le Jardin quilt. Still need to appliqué the birds above the flower. Soon I can start putting all this blocks together. I really enjoyed working with the French General fabrics but then I really love red and everything about is quilt.
I think it's been awhile since I've shown a cat picture. Boo Boo is getting restless.

Wool

I finished the second wool wallhanging from the Block of the Month I did a few years ago. The pattern called for pennies around the outside but I thought it would look sloppy hanging on the wall. I think it's better without them. Edit: The pattern is from Waltzing with Bears and my version pictured here is 18 x 36.
I'm so happy to see the flowers blooming around the garden after a wonderful few days of sun. The bleeding hearts are looking pretty and the pansies are easy to grow. But now Easter weekend is going to be a wet one for us.

Wishing Everyone a Happy Easter!

Scrappy Sew Along

Red and White quilt is washed and looking fresh for spring. Now if it would stop raining for more than a day or two. I sure hope spring is not far off!

Still working on these scrappy sewalong blocks. I'm getting tired of making them, it's taking all my will power to not put these away. I'm determined to get this quilt done.
I like the blocks and I know I'll really love the quilt when it's finished. Anyone else working on this quilt?

Red and White

I've quilted my queen size red and white quilt. These fabrics were from the 5" red and white swap from a while ago.  I love this quilt, it's got such a variety of reds. I put wool batting inside, can't wait to try it out.
My cousin had a baby girl a couple weeks ago. I've made a couple little blankets to use in the stroller or car seat, they are about 20" x 30" with cotton and soft minky fabric. These don't have batting, a nice and light cover. The little purse to for her big sister. What girl wouldn't love purple horses.

Retreat Progress

The retreat was a blast! We had fun with the games and a few people went home with some awesome prizes  such as the Kim Diehl blocks, two jelly roll race quilts and someone donated the cutest little quilt. Maybe next year I'd be so lucky. We all had fun regardless of what we came home with.

I made a little progress on my scrappy sewalong blocks. I'm so slow making these but will keep at it until I'm done.
I put together these blocks that will become a tabletopper for the spring and summer.
Sashing has been added to my HST's blocks from Pam Buda's sewalong. Mine will be larger as the blocks are 8" finished. I think the final size will be 48" square. I'm waiting for a border fabric to arrive. I ordered 2 different fabrics in hopes that one will be right.

We had a fun night of curling and pizza with friends last night. Our first time, might give it a go again sometime.

Sew Along

I had some HST's from a swap a while ago. I came across Pam Buda's sewing along recently and had enough HST's for all the blocks. Mine are 8" finished and Pam's blocks are 6" finished, my quilt will be bigger. Not sure what size yet but I think a nice table topper. I'll be putting this together at my retreat which starts tomorrow. I've still got so much to do before I go.
The cats like to sleep on the bathroom floor because the tiles are heated. It's nice and warm for them. I better get ready. I'll have more to show when I get back.
