A Little Progress

I know block 4 has already been posted, I have 3 blocks of the Summer Star Sew Along completed. These are so cute and it doesn't take long to make one block, so why don't I have block 4 done yet....I was busy today driving the Triangle Farm Tour. Found some wonderful stuff and enjoyed the garden tour.

I'm making a red and white quilt with the exchange squares from last years swap. I'm making my quilt queen size and needed 9 blocks more than the pattern, for a total of 25 blocks. The quilt will be 91"x91". It's a free pattern called Charming Stars on Moda Bake Shop. All the blocks are complete but I still need to add the sashing and border. A couple of bloggers have already finished this quilt Quilting Daze and Sunshine Yellow.

I don't get many good pictures of Lula, I especially like this one. I caught her resting on the stairs enjoying the sun, she is my little princess.

Happy Quilting.

Book Blog Tour

Cheryl of Country Quilts has a new book and I'm very lucky to have been invited to be part of her first blog tour (Thanks Cheryl).....I can't tell you which week......just that it's coming soon. Each week you'll have the opportunity to win her new book, check out Cheryl's blog for how to enter and to see the reveal of the next location. You can see her quilts and Cheryl's guest post on the Martingale blog. The props used in the book are from her personal collection....that's so cool. I was so excited when the book arrived, I immediately started working on one of the quilts....to be continued.

Enjoy the tour.

Progress on BOM's

Blocks one and two for the Summer Star Sew Along at Temecula are finished. Block three has been posted, I'll be working on that one sometime this weekend.

I'm all caught up on the mystery BOM. I showed the first 3 blocks here. This is a mystery BOM at my local quilt shop (Creative Edge), we are on number 7. These are large blocks, 12" finished.  I'm enjoying the mix of pretty fabrics, some are the Ruby collection.

I really like the basket block.

Happy Quilting.

Clear Pouch and SSA

This is a Atkinson Designs pattern and very fun to make. A week ago Carol had made this pattern and I thought, I have that pattern, why don't I make a few for Christmas gifts. The clear plastic front makes it easy to see the contents, I've made the largest pouch here. You should visit Carol's blog, she is making one Christmas project per day for the month of July, it's very inspiring.

The first block of Temecula Summer Star Sew Along, one block per week. The blocks will all be stars and this one is 4" finished.

Happy Quilting.

Vintage Finds

I bought this little round table at the antique show a couple months ago, it was brown and ugly. I'm sorry I don't have a before picture, you'll just have to take my word.....it was ugly. I painted it with chalk paint, distressed and waxed the table. This was my first time trying this, I might have done too much distressing but I'm still pleased with how it turned out.

I found these Bistro chairs at the Vintage Market a couple of weeks ago. I took a chance and hoped they would work with the little round table. I think it worked out great, I couldn't have planned it. I also picked up the old suite case and rusty colanders at the Vintage Market. I have this little grouping on my front porch.

This picture was just too cute not to show you. Boo finds the most interesting places to curl up.

Happy Canada Day

I pieced this quilt top a few years ago, it has been in the closet for so long waiting to be quilted. I finally got it out and did the quilting to have it ready for Canada Day. It sure feels good to have this quilt completed. The Canadian flag has the maple leaf and red and white.

The pattern is designed by a local quilter. I love the nine patches in the sashing.

Boo just wanted to say "Hi".

Happy Canada Day!
