Countryside Quilters Show

This quilt went together very fast using a layercake. The pattern is free and called Moda Love. I'm going to add a small inner border and then a 4" outer border. My oldest daughter will love this quilt.
The Countryside Quilt Show was a big success. More people came to see the quilts than we ever imagined. Our little group of 27 members showed over 400 quilts of our work. There is a VIDEO if you want to see a portion of the show. The bed turning had a big turn out for each time slot we offered, You'll see the bed turning in the video.
Time for some fall decorating. I love this little wool wallhanging from my secret sister at Countryside Quilters. I might see how this looks on my old widow display.

Happy Quilting.

Simple Whatnots Club

I finished the first little quilt in the Simple Whatnots club by Kim Diehl. This one is called Hopscotch and also has a pieced version if you don't like applique. I signed up for the club at Little Quilts Shop, I like how they offered a starter kit up front and then get the patterns each month. This allows me to add a few fabrics from my stash and is budget friendly.
I can't believe how much canning I'm doing. Three of us are working together to get all this canning done. We've finished tomatoes, peaches, cherries, pickles, peach chutney, cucumber relish, salsa, pepper jelly and beets. The peach chutney and tomatoes are shown in this picture. The weather has been great and we are able to do most of the canning outside. One more day of canning and that's it, we are done for the year. Back to quilting soon.

If you are local, the quilt group I belong to Countryside Quilters is having it's first quilt show.
Sat, Sept 20th from 10am to 4pm.
Location Willoughby Reformed Church, 20525 - 72nd Ave, Langley BC
It looks like we will have over 400 quilts to show.

Quilt Show

The local guild quilt show was this past weekend. It was a short visit for me because I had worked all day and got to the show near the end. But it was worth it, I'll start with the BEST merchants booth at the show. Creative Edge is a local quilt shop and Maureen did a fantastic display in her booth. I know how hard she worked and what a terrific display she had done.

Another view of how creative Maureen is displaying all the kits and samples.

If you see anything you like, send me an email and I'll be happy to give you the shop phone number.

This girl had used her grandmothers stash found in the attic for the rings. I love it!

This quilt is a work of art, all pieced, it's so incredible to see in person.

I believe this is the same designer as the cardinal above.

London Underground, very creative.

Whimsical tea pots.

Just beautiful.

Makes me want to visit the country side.

Cute little bird on a branch.

I just think this quilt is fun. I hope you enjoyed seeing a sampling of quilts from the show.

Happy Quilting.

A Few More

I just have to show a few more pictures of around the barns and then a couple of the inside Buggy Barn shop. I love the simplicity of this quilt and the use of homespuns.

Crazy cats for every season.

This little guy is so cute.

Folk Art sale at the barn. Lots of wonderful things for sale.

Going inside the shop. Many wonderful samples all around the walls, ceiling, everywhere you look is another tempting sample.

I have one more post of pictures inside the Buggy Barn shop, they are all going to be fall quilts.

Happy Quilting.

Buggy Barn Quilt Show Part 3

I have a few more pictures of the Buggy Barn quilt show, are you getting bored yet?
It's Sept already and the evenings are getting cooler, I did some clean up in my garden on the weekend. I can't wait for the fall colours, I've got orange and pumpkins on my mind but first I wanted to finish a red and white quilt.....we'll see.

I love the houses, pumpkins and black birds.

These are two of my favourites.

Fall is just around the corner.

This quilt is just gorgeous.

The barns and fences are a prefect setting to hang quilts.
Enjoy your day.

The horse wanted to get in the picture. I'll be back with still more pictures of quilts and a few of the shop inside.

Have a great long weekend!

Local Quilt Show

Not many pictures of the show, I was too busy socializing and working the booth. It was a fun day and nice to see some friends I hadn't seen for a long time. I do wish I had gone back and taken more pictures. This small wallhanging was made by one of the ladies in my stitching group......can you believe the centre flowers are a paper napkin.....yes she takes any paper napkin and makes something so beautiful.

Little quilts are my favourite.

Another little quilt from Jo's club.

Doesn't this flower just jump right out at you, maybe the photo is not the best but Wow in person the flower hopped right off the quilt. It was amazing! That's it for today.

Happy Quilting.
