Scrappy 4 Patch and More

Here is the scrappy 4 patch laying out. I didn't have a pattern for the finished quilt. These are double 4 patch blocks with added sashing. I had fun coming up with this layout. The original inspiration was similar to this little quilt I made. I hope this answers some questions.
Getting ready for my retreat in a couple of weeks, these churn dash blocks will go in a draw. Some lucky person will have a good size quilt with about 40 blocks in the draw. This quilt is in one of Kim Diehl's books.
Happy mail this week, this was a left over Christmas gift and partly thanks to a wonderful friend. Thanks Darlene,  something a little different for me. I'm going to have some fun!

Happy Quilting!

Bowl of Strawberries

Life is like a bowl of strawberries. You never know who might come in to your life. Or was that cherries... Anyway, I've met so many wonderful friends since I started blogging. I just wanted to say you are all fantastic and I thoroughly enjoy your friendship and sharing.

My 4 patch quilt has been sitting for a month waiting for me to add the border. I did it! This quilt came out bigger than planned, it will fit nicely on my queen size bed. This method of 4 patches was from the first Nickel Quilt book, two 4 patch blocks are done at the same time. I couldn't stop making them and it got bigger and bigger...

Today I'm getting ready for my retreat this weekend. I will bring my double wedding ring blocks since I've neglected it for about a year. I'll head over to pick up my DF Arleen tomorrow afternoon. We'll make 2 important stops on the way. One to pick up my basket quilt which is at the machine quilters. And the second stop to pick up any last minute fabric at Quiltopia. The retreat is a Loon Lake, University of British Columbia Research and Education Centre. It has recently been built and looks like a nice place. Can't wait I'm sooooo excited.
