Little Bits

It's been a quiet start to 2014. I'm working on machine quilting my 4patch quilt. I'm happy with how it's looking so far.
Quilt Mania has come out with Simply Vintage in English starting with Issue No. 8 which I found at Chapters book store on Christmas eve. No I don't shop on Christmas Eve but my daughter was working that day and we stopped in to see her.  While waiting I was browsing the magazine section and found the Autumn Issue. Last week she found the Winter Issue for me. This magazine is FULL of projects, you won't be disappointed.
Doing a little redwork. These are Sunbonnet Sue's for each month. I'm working on June now, they go pretty fast.

Happy Quilting!

Wish Quilt

I started stitching the Wish Quilt a couple of years ago. I finished this block with the piecing and applique. It got put aside and forgotten. I've been seeing this quilt done by so many around blogland, I didn't want to miss out, so I found the block and now I want to stitch more of this quilt.

I also had the second block with Santa sleigh and reindeer started, but this one only had the row of flowers stitched. It's all good, this block is ready for me to start stitching right away.

This quilting picture is "just because", I've been machine quilting for a customer and I'm loving how it's looking.

I've got some Christmas gifts in the works, some I can show and some I can't show right now, I want to keep it a surprise for the recipient.

Happy Quilting.

Not much going on at my house this week. The rain continues, it hardly feels like spring. It's not just the rain but it's colder than normal for this time of year. I've been working on a lot of customer quilts but thought I'd sneak in a small quilt of my own. I really like this feather pattern and wanted to try it out.
When I get the binding sewn on, I'll show this quilt again. It's not very big, you are looking at half of it in the picture.

Wishing for spring to arrive soon!

Happy Quilting.

Machine Quilting

I thought I would show a little bit of something else I've been doing lately. Do you remember my ladybug quilt here? It's all quilted and I'm just loving this quilting design with it's funky curves and curls. I've started another quilt with this same design. I think I will get a lot of use out of this one for sure.
It's been a learning process for me and I'm really enjoying how much fun machine quilting can be. I have a couple more stitchery blocks done and will get a picture of those soon. We've had the most wonderful weather here, not too hot in the mid 20's. My tomatoes are growing, I have lots of round green things showing up......boy do those guys need lots of water.

I hope you are enjoying the summer.

Machine Quilting

It's been awhile since I've been able to post. My husband thought it was a good idea to remove the tool that allows me to upload pictures. He said it made the computer faster by removing it, well the whole exercise had slowed me down. Anyway all is fixed again. I've finished a little Schnibbles quilt called "Little Red", mine doesn't look anything like the pattern, the fabrics are from the Moda's Patisserie line. I used one charm pack with some extra yardage. I machine quilted this on my home machine.
Here is the quilt from my last post all quilted and bound. I rented time on a long-arm machine here. It's been a really good learning experience working with the long-arm. Lee the shop owner is very helpful when I needed her to step in to keep my on track. There are many steps to follow to get a quilt done. I certainly want to do more.

The detail of the quilting on the back, it's an edge to edge design. I used flannel because it's soft to snuggle now that we are getting into the fall.

I'm still working on my Christmas stitcheries....all eight little reindeer are going to take me a while to stitch.
