Hearts Everywhere!

There are many different versions of hearts showing up all over Instagram. Seeing them got me in the mood to make a little heart quilt. This heart pattern is in the Vintage Farm Girl book, I'm making the larger size heart, I think it finishes at 4". My Farm Girl Vintage quilt is on hold until I get more of the Moda dot background. It's been ordered, hope it won't be long now.
My Hello Darling layer cake quilt in Bonnie and Camille fabrics is quilted and washed. I love the crinkled looked of a freshly washed quilt. I used Essex white linen in this quilt, the linen frays a bit when piecing but it's manageable.
A new kit arrived this week. This is from Yellowfarmhouse and will make the Winter Blessings wallhanging. Look at the sweet little rusty snowflake.

Happy Quilting.

Farm Girl Vintage

I used the "Spell it with Fabric" pattern by Moda to make the letters in the Farm Girl Vintage quilt. Since the letters are different size than the blocks I'm still working on the layout and fitting everything together. I'm enjoying playing around with the pretty colours in these blocks. More to come on this quilt.
A little stitchery from Plum Cute Designs for Buttermilk Basin Christmas blog hop. The mitten stitchery is a free pattern and the frame I ordered from her website.
Another redwork stitchery I did before Christmas. I thought the frame was a prefect way to display this piece. The "Snow" pattern is a older one from Crabapple Hill Studio, I love her designs.

I'm still working on getting familiar with how blogspot works and seem to have lost the link to INSTAGRAM. For now here is a link to my page called Threadtales.

See you next week.

Happy New Year

My first little finish of 2016 is this small wool piece by Buttermilk Basin. I've had the kit for over a year and decided I needed something that would be quick to finish. I might frame this or make a pillow. A sweet little project to sit and stitch on New Years Day.
A Woodland Christmas by Bunnyhill Designs is still in the works, this is block 9 of 10. The end is not far off. I'm so happy with how this is turning out. I'm using freezer paper and starch method. And I'm so looking forward to having it completed.

I'm putting the binding on my layer cake quilt. The fabrics are cheery and I'm using a black and white with words on the fabric to bind it.

Enjoy your week.
