Snow and More Snow

We've had snow falling everyday for over a week now. This is the most amount of snow I've seen in my life. I'm sure we are well over 20 inches. Everyday hubby is out here shoveling and more shoveling. Daughter #1 has to get to work so hubby will dig her car out and then when she comes home from work, he's out there again digging her a spot to park.
DH harmed with two shovels, going down the road to rescue daughter #1. He has also been driving me to work and picking me up. Daughter #2 and her boyfriend had arrived on the ferry and so off DH goes again to pick them up. Since they were only staying 2 days before heading back home to have Christmas with her boyfriends parents, hubby was again driving, a 1 hour trip took 4 hours. I'm sure he just about had enough.

The snow just keeps getting deeper and deeper. A week ago we didn't have a flake of snow.
I had to tromp through the back yard, snow higher than my knees. Yes I got snow in my boots but I really wanted to get this picture of the icicle, the biggest I've seen. Hubby yelled out "don't you get stuck because I'm not coming to dig you out". Lucky for me I made it through the snow on my own.
DH trying to decided what's the best strategy to dig my car out. We have a garage but we got stuck several times trying to get down the back lane....not going to happen with so much snow.

I walked down to Safeway and by the time I was through the check out he was there to give me a ride home. I have the sweetest hubby, he's been so good at getting the car out almost every day.

Here we are after all the gifts have been opened. Daughter #1 is not a morning person still in her jammies. Can you see the sock monkey daughter #2 is holding, she made that for me and boy is it ever so cute, the monkey even has thumbs and pants too.

We had twenty inches last weekend -Friday through Sunday. We have had 20 or more in one storm - unfortunately!! MY DH is like yours - digs us out, drives me around to make it easier. I appreciate those things so much!

I loved seeing the picture of all of you!! So nice to 'meet' you like that. Have a wonderful weekend!!

What a lovely family! What a fabulous hubby! I know you guys are tired of it, but oh to see a few flakes, it's back to 70 today! Yuck! 75 tomorrow??

PS: I doubt he would have left you stranded. he would have come to your rescue for sure!

Great family photo! Love the fact that on Christmas morning photos with jammies (and in the case of my lot) bed hair, are allowed! Wow....your hubby will be super fit with all the snow shovelling! Fantastic that he looks after you all so well! The snow looks so pretty....I guess you are sick of it but thanks for sharing the pics - no snow here even in winter!

Yes - aren't we all just a bit tired of this weather? If I hear someone say they want a white Christmas next year I might just lose it! Hope it clears up for you soon. We are praying for rain.

Wow, we get that kind of white in Ontario, but do you normally get that where you are in B.C..? We just finished getting a lot but today it went up to 12 and we had some rain that melted a lot of it.

I am sorry I deleted the comment! What I meant is that I have heard on the news that you have had a lot of snow both in USA and Canada. I can see it is true. You have a beautiful family.

We've been getting all that snow too. We got about 2 feet in the last week. But yesterday it got up to 60 and rained hard and now it is almost all gone!

You know, Wendy, I think you actually got a little more than we did down here! And today we are beginning to see patches of grass! What a relief. I'm sure Mr. Squash and your hubby could trade good snow shoveling stories!
Also - such a nice picture of your family!
Cheers!

I think the weather has gone nuts. You've got some serious snow there sister. I know we've had the most snow already this year than we've had in the 8 years we've lived at this house. It's crazy and makes me wonder what lies ahead for the rest of winter. I love the picture of your darling family - thank you for sharing that.

Happy New Year - hugs - Karen
