Tablerunner Done!

I finished the table runner I've been working on and it's now at the Quilted Bear being displayed. My DH doesn't usually say much about my quilts, he might ask "who's that one for" or mostly he will say "that's a nice quilt" or sometimes doesn't notice a new quilt in the house until I point it out laying over the couch. When he saw this table runner, he not only immediately noticed it but also felt the need to give me his opinion...I thought it was very funny what he said. "That's not staying here is it?" No it's a sample for the store. "You can tell Jenny that she can keep this sample, we don't want it back". It made me laugh to think he was telling me how much he didn't like my newest project. When I was finishing the binding, he said "when are you taking that runner to the store?" Hmmm.....I think he was trying to tell me somthing....don't you think???

A small quilt I've been working on as well, this is a smaller version of the one I saw on Darlene's blog a few weeks ago. I loved the black, beige and red combination and just had to make my own version.

Happy Stitching!

Oh, I think your runner is cute and cheerful! Is it the bright fabric your husband objects to? I suppose I could see a GUY not liking it much! LOL!

Wendy - this is too funny - my husband does the same thing - at least he's not afraid to express his opinon! Well I sure like your runner and the small quilt - I really like how you added the cream squares - it really makes the black and red pop!
Cheers!

My husband has also said similar things like "We are keeping that one, are we?" I guess it is their way of being polite and not saying what they really feel.... "I hate that". Gotta love them.

Hubby's are so funny...they all have their little ways of expressing their opinions...LOL! I think it's very cute and I love the red and black.

So sorry your husband does not have good taste! I think it's beautiful. :o) Years ago and for years everytime my husband saw me working on something he said "is that going to fit a bed?" Silly man thought every quilt should have a utilitarian purpose. Now he knows better.

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you!!! Yepper....today is the day, right?!

My husband is the SAME WAY! OMG....I could have wrote that post. I think if they like something it doesn't bother them and it seems as though they don't notice it....but boy if they don't care for something the are sure to voice their opinions.

I think your DH was a bit too dismissive of that runner, LOL! At least he notices what you're working on. It's brighter than your usual style but I like it very much.
The red and black one though is really beautiful!

Well it's not your usual style so maybe it was a shock to him ;-)
Perhaps as a joke, you could give it to him for his birthday or something LOL

Did your husband explain why he doesn't like it. My husband will ask "Are you keeping this one or is going somewhere else?"
I think the tablerunner turned out very nice.

I know the phrases "who´s that one for" and "that´s a nice quilt" and nothing more. I would have laughed too listening to your DH telling that he didn´t want the table runner in the house!

Karen said...

Is the quilt a bit to bright and wild for him? That's funny that it wasn't snapping his socks and wanted it out of the house. Oh I love that little quilt - those colors are yummy together.

Hugs - karen
