Notion Organizer

I finished my Notion Nest organizer this week. The zipper was tricky and took me three times to get it right, I'm finally happy with how it turned out. The zipper goes across the top and down both sides to fully open. This picture shows the organizer closed and ready to go. This was designed and taught by the very talented Shelley of As the Spool Turns.
Here is the a open view showing bigger pockets made with fabric and some smaller pockets made with vinyl.

A view with all my stuff ready to take to my retreat in a couple weeks, it full with cutters, rulers and other sewing items. I'm going to hang this on the wall in my sewing room and then I won't misplace that rotary cutter so often. I seem to always be loosing my small rulers, hopefully this will keep me better organized.

Here is the back view when it's open.

I have one of these purse hangers and never used it, I think it will be great for taking to classes and hanging off the table. Now I can get back to sewing a St. Patricks Day quilt, you can find the tutorial at Kim's Big Quilting Adventures and take a look at the one Carol made.

Happy Quilting.

Wendy I love it! How great for retreats and my Saturday Sew Days.
Heading over to take a look at the St Patty's day quilt to see what I've missed.

Wow, this is quite the organizer. I'm sure it will be very handy for your retreat. Not sure I would ever make one, the zipper is the thing that would hold me back.

So glad you like your Notion Nest. It took me a while to come up with the formula for putting those zippers in. After the 5th go at I got it figured out. I'm hand stitching the binding down today and will post photos. Happy Stitches.

I'm willing to bet you will be the most organized quilter at retreat... that's a great organizer you made! I like your idea of using the purse hanger at retreat... I have one and have never used it! Okay, I checked out the St. Patrick's Day quilt... it's adorable!

Oh this is so cute Wendy - and will be great for retreats. I haven't tackled zippers yet on anything. Rumor is there not as hard as a person thinks. Maybe I should make that a goal for 2013 - try it. I bet your looking forward to retreat. I've got one coming up in April and a trip somewhere warm before that :).
Hugs - karen
