I completed the four blocks using the back basting applique method. I'm really liking this method and plan to do more this way. These blocks will be made into a little quilt with sashing and corner stones. I might have to wait until after I've finished a couple Christmas gifts to put this one together.
I've completed the 4th block for the LeJardin Quilt. This block I used the freezer paper method, maybe the next one I'll do back basting method...the more practise the better. This quilt is very sweet with all the bunnies.
Happy Quilting.

Your blocks are all so beautiful! Your appliqué is wonderful!
Beautiful blocks. I too use the back basting method.
Have a happy week!
Your blocks are lovely! It looks like the back basting method works well for you - I really enjoy this method as well.
Your applique looks fabulous.
Love your blocks, Wendy. I haven't done any hand applique in a very long time. You're definitely an inspiration. :-)

Sweet blocks! Let us know which method you end up liking the best.
Great job! love the blocks and your Lejardin is adorable. I have tried many times to do backbasting but found it more work than the needleturn and keep returning back to that method, it is handy though for when you have dark colors to applique.
your applique is beautiful. love looking at it.
just lovely
We had a demo at our guild with the back basting method, too. I liked it but need to pull out the steps again. Maybe if I do it a couple of times, it will sink in. I really liked your tutorial on the starch method but you are right .... lots of prep before the first stitch. That's why I like wool so much. But not everything can be done in wool.
It is so nice to find a technique that seems to work for us. Great blocks!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the bunny! The quilt will be lovely with those colours and the bunny - beautiful and such perfect applique. Happy Happy stitching!
Beautiful applique and an interesting technique that I would like to try. Is the block pattern from a book or a pattern? I would like to purchase it, as it looks like a good beginners pattern to start with...love the rabbit too, but that is way too complicated for me!
Love the pommegranites...and the bunny! Teresa :o)
Love the four pomegranate blocks. Perfection!!
very nice blocks!
Your pomegranate blocks are beautiful!! I still haven't given backbasting a try but I need to! I never thought of it as a technique with less prep. I am all over less prep :0)
