Surprises

As promised I'm back with my new quilt to start the year. Occasionally scrap baskets can really surprise you, I made this quilt entirely from my stash including the setting triangles and borders. I'm hoping this will happen a little more often to clear out some space in my tiny little sewing room. This is from the book Scrap-Basket Surprises and the pattern is called "Kitchen Sink", all the pieces are the same size for the center. My hubby called these chubby little pinwheels...isn't that cute. It's a great book, I love how this quilt turned out.

Happy Quilting.

Awesome, Wendy! I have all the pieces/parts sitting to the left of my sewing machine but it waits. LOL I love that you used your stash; I've been trying to do more of that for quite awhile.

Great job! I have to try and do that more. Though I know I'll have to buy backrgounds as I don't have that many large pieces (+ 1 yard)

What a beautiful quilt! I just love the colors - I will have to go look for that book - heaven knows I need to clear out some of my scraps. A quick question - can you tell me who designed the pattern for your Merry Christmas stitchery pillow? I just love it and would love to make one as well. Thanks for sharing your great projects.

I just love the quilt. What a bonus to use up some of your stash and not having to buy anything new. I was looking at the snow on your previous post - I live in Australia and we are having 40oC summer heat this week - one extreme to the other! Sue-Anne

What a gorgeous quilt, and great use of your stash!

Beautiful quilt. Doesn't it make it even more special since you made it entirely from the stash? I've had my eye on that book for a while too. I even had it in my hand my last trip to the quilt shop. I restrained myself then, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to much longer.
