Table Topper

The table topper was pieced a couple weeks ago and ready for quilting....this is for my sister.....nothing like waiting until the last minute. I hope to have it quilted next week, if all goes as planned. It doesn't have far to travel so I should be good. Check out Darlene's Christmas Through the Year linky party. This is the last month for CTTY. Thanks so much to our fantastic hosts Darlene and Cheryl who did a great job keeping us going all year.

The little braid quilt was just for fun. The quilt group I belong to has a project each month and this is Dec project.  Isn't it sweet, I had fun making this small quilt. I'm still working on the Wish Quilt stitcheries, I hope to have Santa finished soon.

Christmas Runner

Another Christmas project checked off the list. I made this runner using a pattern from Cluck Cluck Sew called Peppermint Twist. I changed it a bit with only doing one row of blocks to make a skinny runner. I'd like to make the quilt sometime, it's a quick and easy pattern. The fabrics are called "Joy" by Kate Spain. Not my usual fabrics but it makes a great gift.

I'm ready for the Christmas train Darlene and Cheryl, one more project for the Christmas box is completed.

Christmas Through the Year

Table runner by Cotton Way ready for gift giving, finished the binding last night. But before it's given away this table runner will serve as a sample for the quilt shop I work at. The way the pattern is designed the stitchery is part of the back of the runner, I've made it the front instead. I wouldn't put this lovely stitched writing on the back......would you? I'm ready for the Darlene's August Christmas Train coming soon.

Happy Stitching!

Christmas Through the Year and SSA #4

This is a quick post to show a couple of things. Firstly, I've made 2 more of the vinyl pouches using the Atkinson Designs pattern, these are the smallest size, the pattern comes with 3 sizes. I'm posting them kinda late for July Christmas Through the Year hosted by Darlene and Cheryl....maybe they will go easy on me since it's summer.

I might as well include the Summer Sew Along blocks, number 4 is finished.

Happy Quilting.

This and That

One gift a month hosted by Darlene and Cheryl. I almost didn't finish this in time for the May train. It's not much but I figure better than nothing.

Scrappy Dressies Plates are coming along, I think this might be my favourite quilt.

I haven't shown these blocks until today, these are  4 1/2" finished blocks I've been working on. Not sure how many I'm going to make, it's a "work in progress". I did the 2 hexie blocks this week. I really enjoyed making them, I might be hooked!

More Bags

I'm still in the mood for making bags, a couple more to add to the gift box. These two bags will be for my nieces. The size is prefect for a cell phone and small camera.

Wishing for Spring

We had a beautiful sunny weekend, it felt like spring had arrived. Today it's cold, drizzly and feels more like winter than spring. I made this little bag using spring colours to bring a bit of sun back. The bag is called Lollipop bag and has a hidden bottom. You can find the pattern at Atkinson Designs. My gift box is growing, I'm hooked on bags and making more.

A Little Something

A small finish for Feb, this little coin quilt will go in the Christmas gift box. Now I have two gifts finished, I hope I can keep this going throughout the year, even if I make one a month I'll be happy. Thanks Darlene and Cheryl for the encouragement to keep making gifts.

Just because cats and quilts are so sweet together, Boo all curled up on a flannel quilt. I took this picture really fast because it not too often I see him sleeping. Boo has too much energy and usually spends the day outside.
Lula sleeps most of the day upstairs on this quilt or sometimes I find her stretched out on the heater, she doesn't go outside. That's the life of cats and quilts, pretty relaxed.

Slowly

I'm slowly getting back in to sewing again. It took me a week to get back to a regular sleeping pattern and NOT waking up at 2am.....grrrrr, it usually only takes a couple of days. I worked a lot last week as well, so that didn't help. I did manage to sew this table runner using the same Moda Flurry pattern, I made the larger Christmas quilt last Dec. I thought I'd try something fun and could be used all year or maybe a birthday or something.

This stitchery was done during my trip, I used the Sulky transfer stuff, this is the first time I tried this product and it worked out well. Saves on tracing and is soft enough to stitch with.

To remove the Sulky fabric you get it wet and the Sulky stuff dissolves in water. Here is a picture of the bag this stitchery is about to become. Stay tuned, I hope mine will look as cute as the picture. The pattern is in the book called "Some Kind of Wonderful". I'm also just about finished the binding on a little coin quilt....woohoo.....it's a start!
