Pincushion #2 Oh So Sweet

Not much quilting going on because I've been spending time priming the kitchen walls. We purchased our lovely 1912 house about 6 months ago and the previous owners had painted the kitchen the deepest darkest forest green (you get the picture). It was time to start on the painting, over the winter it's been the darkest room in the house. Yuck I can't stand it anymore. I think it might need 2 coats of the primer and then I can paint a warm yellow. It's a large kitchen so it's going to take me a while to get it done.

When I was tired of all the painting, I got to work on the cupcake pincushion. I made some changes from the pattern and cut down the size of the cup. It seemed like the cup was way to tall for a pincushion and the cup would be a nice place to have storage inside so I left the top open to store snips and needles.

I will admit at first I thought it was some soufle even perhaps a panatoni with candles on it! I think it's past my bed time! lol Nice pin cushions. Good luck with your kitchen. I love older homes, they have such characters.

Nice redesign on the pin cushion. If I lived closer I would help paint your kitchen. I like painting!

Love the pincushion! The changes are fabulous; especially leaving it open for pins and such.

I have to say, though, that I love the quilt that your pincushion is on - tell me about it, please!

That cupcake turned out just yummy -- your changes really add to it *s* Enjoy painting - everything always feels so fresh and new with after a coat of paint.

You have some beautiful quilts and I have enjoyed reading your blog. I was wondering if you could tell me what you used for the pin cushion ( the container part)? Thank you so much...I look foward to seeing what you do next.
